Club Underworld Look

Yesterday was Club Underworld, the event I'm co-organizing. We had a superb band and an excellent guest DJ, everything went really well! There were not so many people attending, but that was because there were a few other events at the same time, so no biggie :)

Wreckdance was playing, they were great! They haven't published an album yet, but it's coming.

I continued with my smoky eye looks, and did one with black, pink and purple. The pink kind of got lost and turned purpley, but it's there, I promise ;)

I used:

Face
MAC Studio Sculpt foundation
Evil Shades Matte Silk powder
Evil Shades Pink Noise blush

Eyes
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sugarpill Bulletproof (on lid and blended above crease)
Darling Girl Cosmetics Obviously a Wig (at the edge of Bulletproof)
Fyrinnae Nevermore (on top of Bulletproof and blended between it and Obviously a Wig)
Sugarpill Tako (on browbone and inner corners)
MAC Fluidline Blacktrack

Lips
Morgana Cryptoria gel lipstick Athena
Morgana Cryptoria lipstick Licorice

I did gradient lips to make them look fuller, there's black at the corners and pink in the middle.

And this is what I wore! The shoes were a bit big for me, but I didn't remember it when I put them on and was too lazy to take them off to add a thicker sock. The lacing goes all the way up and isn't the speed lacing type, so it takes ages to wiggle the laces through every tiny hole.

Hat - Seppälä
Necklace - Glitter
Dress - Lip Service
Corset - Second hand, Burleska
Shoes - Second hand, Pennangalan
Bracelets - Glitter

Here you can see the make-up better, and also my earrings. They are one of my favourites.

I carefully curled the ends of my hair, but it was raining outside so it straightened out. At least it shows in the pictures!

I tried something different with my hair, I'm not sure if it worked out so well, but there's one victory roll, a tiny hat and the loose hair is curled and there are a few black clip-in extensions tossed in as well.

I had a really fun night, the best part was when there were only a few people left and we danced to all the good songs, and the part when I remembered there was still leftover feta salad in the fridge at home ;P I also drew a heart for my boyfriend in the sleet that had fallen during the night, very romantic to stomp a symbol into the wet slush on the parking lot, so he could see it from our bedroom window. I also got my shoes wet, a sacrifice for love!

Morgana Cryptoria Swatches

Yesterday a long-awaited package arrived, the lipsticks I ordered at the beginning of February. Everything takes so long to reach Finland!

A pretty bag!
Everything was packed neatly and came with a copy of my invoice. When I took the lippies out of the bag, I was a bit worried since one of the slim tubes had a lip balm label and I had ordered two gel lipsticks and three regular lipsticks. Luckily it turned out to be the right product, the label was just wrong.

There were also two different kinds of lipstick tubes, Licorice had a taller, slimmer tube than Iced Latte and Darkwave. All worked fine, although the fatter tubes were a bit easier to open. Today I noticed the cap of Licorice is actually cracked, despite the bubble mailer it came in. I dropped the company an e-mail to see what can be done about it.

Three lipsticks and two gel lipsticks

Darkwave, Iced Latte and Licorice.  Iced Latte looks a lot warmer than in real life.

Athena gel lipstick, Aisling gel lipstick, Darkwave, Iced Latte and Licorice regular lipsticks.

The gel lipsticks seemed to go on very thickly when I swatched them, but the colours were really pretty and deep. The regular lipsticks had a thinner consistency, but were opaque with a few swipes. I'm not sure if Iced Latte looks good on my skin tone, but every colour is very nice and what I expected. Aside from the cracked cap on one of the lippies, everything was excellent.

I'll update the post when I know how the broken cap will be handled!

80's Night Look

I went to an 80's club night, where the DJ's play mainly old goth rock and 80's hits. The perfect combination since I love both! I had just gotten my new lashes from Sugarpill and wanted to do a look with them.

I used:

Face
L'Oreal Smooting Resurfacing Primer
MAC Strobe liquid
MAC Studio Sculpt foundation
MAC Select Cover-up
Evil Shades Matte Silk powder
Evil Shades blush in Pink Noise

Eyes
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Glamour Doll Eyes Glam Girl
Fyrinnae Catrina Cabaret
Evil Shades Suffocation
Sugarpill Taco
Sugarpill Angel Baby lashes

Lips
Morgana Cryptoria 11th Hour lipstick

I primed my face, added foundation with my fingers (brushes seem to suck up too much of the foundation and I'm allergic to latex sponges), then covered undereyes and added some powder on top with a big fluffy brush. Dabbed some Strobe Liquid on my cheekbones, chin tip and nose bridge. Put Pink Noise blush on cheeks. It's a lovely dark shimmering pink shade.

On my eyes I used UDPP and put Pixie Epoxy on top. Padded Glam Girl on the lid, then put Catrina Cabaret on the crease and blended it up. Catrina Cabaret is described as a blackened teal, but on my skin it looks more like a dark purpley blue. Still very pretty and has wonderful pink-purple shimmer and glitter! I tried to blend the edges of Catrina Cabaret with Suffocaiton, but it doesn't show that much. Added some more Catrina Cabaret after blending to deepen the colour. Put Taco on my brow bone and inner corners of eyes, added mascara and put on the Sugarpill falsies. Finished the look with Morgana Cryptoria lipstick.

This is what I wore. It was super cold in the morning, so I piled on tons of stuff. You can't really see it on the pic, but I'm wearing woolen pantyhose under leggings and a bolero on top of a long sleeved shirt. The weather became warmer during the night, but at least I was in no danger to freeze ever ;) I had a really fun night, including lots of dancing, beer and friends!

Hair clip - Nitrobabe
Necklace - Morticia
Shirt - Second hand
Bolero - Queen of Darkness
Corset - Lip Service
Shorts - Seppälä
Leggings - Can't remember! They are super old.
Shoes - Pennangalan

Party Night Look

Last night I went to have dinner with friends and finished with a house party. It was a long night, but the food was super delicious and the party was wild and had a two lovely kitties attending also :) Here's my party look!

This is what I used:
MAC Yogurt
Morgana Cryptoria Cryptic
Concrete Minerals Unity
Sugarpill Tako
MSCHIC black gel liner
Urban Decay 24/7 pencil Zero
Random false lashes

I primed the lid with Urban Decay primer potion, then added MAC Yogurt on the whole lid to act as a base to help with blending the colours. Then I patted Cryptic on the lid and up past the crease, leaving a little bit space at the inner corner of the eye to make the look a bit lighter. Also did the lower lash line with Cryptic. Added Unity to the edge of Cryptic and blended well. Just touch of Tako on the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye and it's finished! A really easy smoky eye look. Added eyeliner to the waterline and lashline, the just glued on a pair of false lashes.

A closeup of the eyeshadow, sorry I forgot to take a pic with eyes closed!

I wanted to keep with the purple theme, so I chose Geek Chic Cosmetics' lipstick in My Little Pwny on the lips and added some sparkly gloss on top. I didn't really have time to do anything with my hair, so it's just pinned up from one side with a skeletal hand clip to show my undercut. The blush is by Fyrinnae, I think it's Temptation but I seem to have lost the label since it was a free sample and I put it in a jar instead of the bag it came in. A really deep plum shade anyway, one of my favourites!

Full face. You can see I like purple, right? ;)

Morgana Cryptoria Black Friday Shopping And Swatches

I got a package from Morgana Cryptoria today, containing stuff I brought on the Black Friday sale.

Packed in a pretty bag!

Here's what's inside.
I had never tried Morgana Cryptoria before, but had read praising reviews of the lip products and had marveled at the shade selection at the web shop. Black Friday seemed like the perfect time to try them out! Unfortunately, there were only a few products available at the sale (or maybe I was too slow and most of the stock was already gone), but I picked a few lippies and a few eyeshadows to get my order total above the minimum sum.

The shipping was fast when taking to account the huge amount of orders placed at the sale and the time it takes to ship to Finland. Everything arrived intact and I liked all the products! Now on to the swatches:

Starburst, 11th Hour, Sapphire Smile, Eggplant and Heliotrope lip balms.
Starburst - Almost black base with teal and purple glitter

11th Hour - Cold dark pink shimmery base with a tiny amount of gold glitter

Sapphire Smile - Metallic dark teal

Eggplant - A brownish warm purple colour. This seemed to be the sheerest of the colours.

Heliotrope - A matte blue based purple.

The picture doesn't capture the nice sparkles in Starburst well, but otherwise the colours are true to life (meaning true to camera flash illuminated life). I'm not sure if Eggplant is really my type of color, but they all seemed really nice and had a nice texture and opacity.

Only Eggplant was in the old type of tube, other colours were in slim lip balm tubes.

The eyeshadows were just something I quickly picked to try out, they are both from the Haunted Eyes collection from 2010. They are both nice shades, with a lot of glitter, but neither was an instant favourite. They are swatched over Pixie Epoxy from Fyrinnae.

All Holos Gleam - A dark grey shimmery base with tons of glitter in mostly in teal, but also purple, orange, red and yellow.

Cryptic - Dark blackened plum matte base with purple glitter

All Holos Gleam and Cryptic. Cryptic had much more glitter in real life!

All Holos Gleam glimmering in the jar!

One more angle of All Holos Gleam just to show off the amazing glitter.
