Outfit of the Day

Nothing fancy, just a very basic day off spent at home. My bangs are getting very long, need to trim them soon!

Bachelorette Look

I had my bachelorette party a couple of weeks ago! We did things in a non-traditional order: first getting married, then having the wedding party over half a year later, and then after the wedding was my bachelorette party. I can recommend this order, much less stress! I don't think I could have enjoyed a bachelorette party fully before the wedding, as there was so much to do.

I didn't know beforehand what we were going to do at the party, so I just my makeup and chose comfy clothes.

Pastel look done with Sugarpill Sparkle Baby palette. Brows are OCC Black Dahlia lip pecil.
I was amazed at what wonderful things my maids of honor had come up with for the party! We ent to a burlesque dance class to improvise little performances, then to a room escape game and afterwards had a great dinner. I really enjoyed all the activities, and just meeting people who I had not had the time to talk to for a while was nice. Just eating, drinking and chatting, the most basic fun there is!

And I absolutely have to try out more room escape games, that was fun! The concept is that you have a team of people, go into a room and the goal is to find the clues hidden in the room and escape it within a time limit. I like games, and having a physical puzzle game has it's own charm.

Check out my new earrings from H&M Halloween selection ;P They say "Witch Please"

Next I hope to show you my Halloween costume! At Club Bella Morte x Underworld Samhain party we had a professional photographer set up booth to allow guests to get pictures taken of their outfits. I had some extra time (usually I just run around all night long, as there's always something that needs to be done) and got my picture taken too. Can't wait for the result!

Outfit of the Day

My other half was so nice he stayed up to get a Black Milk dress for me when the Hot Little Goths collection came out. What could be better than doing a favor for your spouse and playing Stellaris all night long? ;D But this altruism is what made it possible for me to own this lovely piece! The dress is the Ouija Board Black vs. Mermaid Bones inside out dress, worn with Mermaid Bones on the outside. I love the cut of the inside out dresses and the versatility. I travel quite often, so having two dresses in one is great! This is my third inside out dress and I use all of them quite often.

I paired the dress with faux garter pantyhose and pulled my hair back. It ended up being a very hot day, so I could have done without the pantyhose, but it looks very nice with the skirt. The sandals are from last summer, but I only last weekend stretched them out enough to make them comfortable to wear. I waited and waited for them to naturally stretch, but ended up using a hairdryer to heat the leather up to speed up the process. Simple, easy and the results are good!

Outfit of the Day

Yes I know the shoes are ridiculous ;D I needed to drive and I need flat shoes to feel the pedals, so these came in handy! I just bough these Black Milk Mecha leggings second hand and they fit me like a glove. It's been very warm, so simple, light clothes like leggings are very useful. I was on my way to pop to a friend's b-day party, just to get out a bit and train my driving skills. I have to say it's weird going to a party and not having anything alcoholic to drink, but I'm sure I'll get used to it! It's good practise to drive on the mostly empty streets, as I can take in all the markings and go as slowly as I need to. I'm hoping to be a good driver soon!

One more showing my ponytail! My hair is quite faded, but still has a nice
ombre effect. The earrings I bought from the gothic flea market event, they
are by A for Arsenic. I changed the hooks to studs so they don't feel too heavy,
and now they are one of my favourite pairs :)

Outfit of the Day

It's so warm! So I naturally went to my family's summer cottage last week and enjoyed time spent barefoot. I'm growing out my undercut and it's finally at a stage where I can get the longest hair in a pony tail and the shorter ones don't stick straight out anymore. For these pics I put pins in the undercut to keep it close to the scalp and brushed all remaining hair to the other side. Fast, easy and keep the unruly undercut hair at bay!

Outfit of the Day

It feels like summer! It's warm and I've had a couple of days off, so I'm in summer vacation mode. We have a kitchen renovation starting in a couple of weeks and I'm working hard to make sure everything is prepared so things can proceed smoothly. I only have a couple of driving lessons left before the test. I hope I'll do well, it will be so much easier to get stuff done when I can just take the car and go, instead of trying to match schedules with my other half. He's a very good driver, but naturally it's sometimes complicated to make sure both of us have time at the same moment!

Jacket - My sister's old, it's by Guess
Top - Georgia Hardinge for River Island
Pants - H&M
Boots - H&M

I don't even remember the last time I wore a cropped top showing off my belly! I've been hunting high and low for a dress with this pattern, but when I found a top on eBay, I simply needed to have it. The printed pleating looks awesome, and with slim pants, I think a short shirt works quite well with my body. And it shows off my cute purple rose tattoo on my hip, just enough to give the outfit some extra colour.

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, so I'll be visiting my mom. She promised I could have one plating box at my parents yard, so I have a few bags of seeds that I can plant. Lets see how my carrots and onions will do!

Outfit of the Day

Whew, the most company party ever was last week and I think I'm still mentally recovering! We had 300-400 guests, delicious food, excellent drinks, a pole dancer and Mokoma playing some metal music. Now when we make the next game that sells two million we'll do it all over again, but not in a few years ;D

Anyway, here's my outfit from the day after! I've been a bit busy as I'm trying to juggle doing most of the chores at home (my other half's ankle still isn't okay), driving school, organizing a kitchen renovation and plenty of work at the office. I only have a few driving lessons to go and then hopefully I'll pass the test and be able to ride my awesome golden SUV where ever I please.

The day after we did some shopping and popped for a few hours to a friend's housewarming party, then fell asleep on the couch at home. I guess staying up until six in the morning takes its toll. But I still looked fab!

Top - Rogue by Tiina Ulkuniemi
Jeans - Bik Bok
Boots - New Rock

We had a hairdresser come to the office before the party to make sure everyone who wanted got their hair done. I enjoyed the lovely curls for many days, here they are just slept in and brushed to one side. I've been lazy with my eye make up, but put on a soft smoky eye just because I felt like it. The lipstick is Lolita by Kat Von D, the perfect natural tone for my lips.

Outfit of the Day

My outfit from last Saturday! My other half and I went to see a tournament at the Häme castle and check out the armour exhibition that opened the day before. I enjoyed everything, but should have worn way more clothing, as the weather was colder than a witch's tit (a saying I learned from the Outlander and loved). It even snowed and it's supposed to be spring!

Jacket - Juunappa
Cardigan - GinaTricot
Dress - Black Milk Dark Moth vs Play With Me Inside Out Dress
Shoes - H&M

These are only pictures I got of the outfit before the camera battery died. To be efficient, we not only went to the castle, but also to get my measures taken for a corset project (exciting!) and visited some relatives. It's once again been a bit busy, as I spent three days in Berlin on a business trip, then one day at a gala and one working and recovering, but just wait until I get pictures of my gala outfit! I bought a made-to-measure latex dress that turned out absolutely awesome.

The tournament. It was cold but worth it!
Soon I will also show you my new favourite lipstick that I managed to find despite it being almost sold out!

Club Infektio Celebrates Fifth B-Day!

Club Infektio is hosting a great party on 15th of April to celebrate their fifth birthday. That's an awesome age for a club, well done!

The theme of the event is "Party like it's 2085!" and I know I sure will! I've been an avid cyberpunk fan for ages, it's my one of my favourite roleplaying settings and I've read everything by William Gibson and loved it (well, except for Spook Country which I didn't like, but maybe I'll get into it one day).

So how does a party with Grendel, Synfactory and a house full of cyberpunk goths sound? Good? Here's a look I did to fit the event and then some! (For tickets, visit Infektio's page)

Top - Dane Cyber Clothing (second hand)
Skirt - Artifice Clothing
Boots - Fantasy Shoes (second hand)
Purse - Kreepsville

A fairly simple cyber look, but I absolutely needed to do the purple theme! The corset and boots are matching purple glitter material, and the rest of the items are silver and black. The skull bag is new and I love him! I named him Phteven, because he looks like he can only mumble. That and Morte, best names for bodiless skulls! The Dane corset is so short on the sides that I paired it with an underwear corset that makes sure there's no muffin top effect. The front panel is boned and stays flat, but the sides have just mesh that might have lost some of its strength.

The make-up: HUGE false lashes (mine are Heiress by Sugarpill), black smoky effect on top with a matte shadow (Sugarpill Bulletproof) but for the lower lid I used a purple that matches the corset and boots. This one is called Flashback, it's from the Urban Decay Spectrum palette. Purple lipstick was naturally in order, so I did my lips with OCC Pagan and Technopagan. I have to say that I wish Technopagan would be a bit more red and less blue, but the metallic effect is so gorgeous that I'll use it anyway!

I did my brows really high for an out-of-this-world look and used ColourPop gel liner to make sure they can last through an evening of sweaty dancing. For the final touch I applied a small black and silver bindi on my forehead.

And once I get going with cyberpunk looks, things will not stop at glitter and PVC! The background picture is from a friend who visited Hong Kong, (thanks Patty! You are the best!) I saw it on Facebook and asked if I could use it for these pictures. The glasses I borrowed from my other half, a pair of Wiley X Saber Advance protective glasses. The air soft gun in the last pic is also his. I happened to have some EL-wire in my stash and thought it would work well in these pictures, but it kinda gets lost in the noise and it doesn't look very bright on the camera. But I'll bet it look awesome at a dark club when I finally take the time to sew it on to something!

Party like it's 2085 in Hong Kong! Background picture by Patty Toledo.

Don't worry, it's not a real gun! I utilize my other half's airsoft
gun collection when I have the chance ;P

Killstar Conjuring Hood Dress from Deadfine.fi

More pics of the Killstar Conjuring Hood Dress I got from Deadfine.fi! I love dresses with a lot of decorations, but these very plain types are great to combine with accessories without looking too busy. The fabric is stretchy but thick, very comfortable to wear. I added a corset on top, but I think this cut would look gorgeous with a corset under it, too. I'm wearing a Rogue + The Wolf necklace on my forehead and the corset is by Artifice Clothing.

Black on black on black + pink hair. Just my kind of thing!

Bella Morte Notes from the Underground IV

On Friday my fellow club organizers and me spend the evening entertaining people at the latest club Bella Morte. There were more people than usually on Friday's, which was great! I had a fun night and got to play just the type of music I like, gothic rock. I tend to be so busy at work and home that I don't put any music on, but I definitely should listen to music more. Everytime I prepare my DJ sets, I remember why I love the genre and just how good it all sounds!

My other half did my hair with great results. The rest of the outfit I put together to compliment the gorgeous curls. The corset is made by me (with a ready-made base corset I modified and added the scale mail on top), the skirt is by Lip Service, and the necklace and earrings are by Lumissa's Purple Octopus. Pictures by my husband, Arttu K. (Yes, he took my last name :>)

Oh, and if the lady who asked after the Pohjola albums is reading this, if you didn't get one at the event, please send me an email and I'll mail one for you! I was supposed bring a box of cds to be given out for free, but forgot. I didn't find you at the club after fetching the cds, but I want you to have one as you asked so nicely!

Steamy Elevator

Last weekend my other half and I went to a steampunk themed birthday party. The evening included delicious cake, cider, punch and lots of friends. I didn't have lots of time to perfect my look, but I did take the time to sew in boning to my Victorian top and add a little decorative trim on the neckline. I'm not sure how much the boning really changes the silhouette, as I wear the top with a corset, but at least now it's done like the instructions say! I also shortened the hem a bit. Seems like a neverending job, as it was first too short, then I took apart the whole waistband and added length, then the hem was too long, and now hopefully it might be just right.

Here's some pictures taken in an elevator that suited the look well. I just popped on some goggles instead of the matching hat for the outfit to get a more steampunk-y feel.

In other news, my corset is finished aside from the eyelets. Magnus seems to be of the opinion that it's actually a cat bed.

And Tirri, who had five teeth removed but is still happily eating things like plastic plants.

Outfit of the Day

Today I mainly lounged on the sofa at home, but also popped to a friends' house party for a few hours. Good food and board games, just my kind of party! It's so easy to get around now that we have a car, I usually hated going anywhere for just a short time, as it meant spending almost as much time waiting for the bus and on the bus. Henna the car works like a charm and gets me around.

I'm not a Christmas person and I'm happy that it's almost a year until the next one. One of our kitties needed to be taken to the vet on the 23rd, so we spent most of Christmas tending to him. He had a cut that had been infected, so nothing serious, but lots of bad tasting antibiotics to feed to the cat who would much rather not eat them!

Belt - Infinity belt by Fox & Owl
Tank top under the dress - Cubus

I'm enjoying my Christmas vacation, it's great to be able to just rest, eat and play games. I've done some sewing, played lots of Mass Effect and watched so far 4 out of the 6 Harry Potter movies. I've had a crazy year, so some rest & recreation is good!
