Steampunk in the Steam Engine Museum, part 1

I've had a great photoshoot weekend! First we had a little workshop type of event on Saturday at a local steam engine museum with three models and three photographers. Then on Sunday I went to shoot with TiinaMoi in a park.

The first pictures from the first shoot already arrived and I'm blown away, they are simply great!

Photographer: Lauri Majamaa (Studio Majamaa)
Outfit, make-up, model: Me
Hair: Anniina Eskelinen (Anniina_e)

Photographer: Mika Suvanto (MS Photo Art)
Outfit, make-up, model: Me
Hair: Anniina Eskelinen (Anniina_e)

I had two outfits, as you can see. The first one was my copper orange Victorian dress with a little hat, long gloves and lots of pearls, and the second one is supposed to be what a steampunk mechanic might look like (I like Kaylee in Firefly, so that's what I was going for). The museum even had wrenches available for anyone who wanted to take a photo with some as props ;D I love how different the outfits are and also how different the pictures taken by different photographers can be. I really love workshops, you get so much done in a short time! It was wonderful to have Anniina to assist me with dressing and she did my hair perfectly. A half-up do for the Victorian outfit and a messy curly up do for the mechanic.

If you are ever in Tampere and are interested in steam machines, stop by Werstas museum! They have Finland's largest steam engine in its original location and the whole museum is free of charge.

Thanks to everyone involved, I had lots of fun and the pictures are great! I'll post more when the rest are done!

Steampunk Samhain

Sorry for the tiny break! There was so much work in arranging the Samhain party that I just had no time to write. But finally here are some pictures of my costume, I was very happy with it! All pictures taken by Ari Rantanen. I was supposed to take some pics of my look myself, but after finishing setting up the venue, I still had to print and cut 200 voting tickets for the audience, eat, finish painting the headdress made by my other half and let it dry, do my hair and make-up, and do the finishing touches to my playlists, so there just was no time!

Headdress - By my other half
Sleeve - Red Queen's Black Legion
Shirt - Second hand
Harness - Red Queen's Black Legion
Corset - Draculacorsets
Brown top skirt - Self made (it used to be a butt-ugly wraparound skirt)
Bustle skirt - Fan + Friend

The evening was great, people had truly awesome costumes and the venue looked really nice and worked well with the amount of people there. I played two sets and only managed to empty the dance floor once (apparently not many Lebanon Hanover fans around!), so I call that a success ;D

The only downside was that I was so busy running around that I didn't have enough time to chat with people, but next time then! I feel like it's been ages since I've seen friends when I've just been at home, working or studying. It was great to go out, even if it was a busy evening, and all the guests seemed to be enjoying themselves too :)

Costume competition winners, just look at those cool outfits!

Steampunk!

Today we got mail! My other half ordered clothing from Fantasmagoria and I got myself a harness from the same shop. I promised to modify a wonderful steampunk styled sleeve to fit him, but wanted to take a few pictures with it before starting to work on it. It's a gorgeous piece!

My newest pair of New Rocks also arrived today, I think I'm in love! I looked at a pair of heelless New Rocks at WGT, but the price was too high to my liking. They were asking for 250+ euros! When I got home I took a look at New Rock's own site and they had a pair of heelless shoes on sale, the last pair was in my size, and with a patent leather finish which I love! So those were clearly meant for me ;P They cost a bit over 135 euros, much more affordable.

The headdress is from WGT, the company that made it is called Pazzesque. The golden shade went perfectly with the brown and brass of the harness and the sleeve.

Headdress - Pazzesque
Sleeve - Fantasmagoria (Red Queen's Black Legion, "Steampunk Armor")
Harness - Fantasmagoria (Red Queen's Black Legion, "Mildred Brown Harness")
Top - H&M, plain black tank top
Skirt - Second hand
Socks - Super old, can't remember!
Boots - New Rock Plataforma Extreme Acero

I should do a post about the lace sleeve now that it's healed, I've just forgot to.

That nekkid spot is where my next tattoo will be ;D
