Tattoo Post with Bones, Lilies and Lace!

When the tattoo artist who worked on my sleeve asked if I had any good pictures of the finished work, I realised I had not really taken any pics after the background of the moth in my upper inner arm was finished. Here's a few snaps finally in the fading autumn light!

The upper arm and shoulder were done in by a different artist 2012, here's my post of that part of the tattoo.

This post has pictures of the forearm finished, but inner upper arm still bare.

And here you can see the upper arm still missing the background color and lace.

The 2012 parts were done by Hexa at Precious Tattoo and the new parts from this year by Tomppa at Halo Tattoo. I really enjoyed these latest sessions, Halo is a great place with a really relaxed atmosphere and Tomppa has just the sort of style I like! Also he really knows how to do lace, I'm very impressed with the technique.

Roses, lilies and lace. I love the ending the lace has at the wrist, the tattoo artist Tomppa
draw it free-hand right on my skin and it was just perfect right from the start.

You can see here that the flower patterns in the lace are actually not
pure black, they have a little texture that mimics they way thread would
look on actual lace fabric. Also the screaming cat skull, my cats are
very vocal so it's perfect!

The moth shows best from the backside. It's in an ornamental frame with
a deep purple background. The purple might need a little touching up,
but I've been too busy to worry about it much.

Backside of the arm. I really like the lace next to the moth in the frame, it's so
realistic and works very well in tying together the whole tattoo.

Raven skull with a lily.

Moth and lace.

Furry Flying Thing Tattoo

I'm finally getting my sleeve finished! I hadn't really planned originally on filling out the inner bicep part, but when the lower arm was finished, I felt like a spot was missing. So now there's a moth in a fancy frame filling it! This one is still a work in progress, it's missing a dark background inside the frame and lace outside of it to tie it in with the rest of the sleeve. The tattoo is done by Tomppa at Halo Tattoo.

It's only one day old in the pictures, at this moment after five days it's starting to peel and reveal the final colours. The frame is lighter, making the details stand out more. I have to say this location wasn't my favourite spot to tattoo, but it was also a super hot day when the tattoo was done and it seemed impossible to stay well hydrated, making everything hurt more. But one more sitting and it will be finished. yay!

Finishing touches to the Tattoo

Today was my second appointment at Halo tattoo studio, we had planned to finish my sleeve. For some reason today my pain treshold was very low and my arm decided to swell at the first touch of the needle, so the colours are still missing from two flowers and a pendant. But Tomppa got a lot done and I'm proud I lasted for three and a half hours despite the pain! Here's a picture of my arm wrapped in plastic, I want to show the very pretty shade of purple on the rose, it's gorgeous! I also love how the lace background looks, but it doesn't show well through the plastic.

Tooth Necklace and Tattoos

Good morning! I was up early feeling energetic, and despite the pounding rain in the morning, the day seems to be going in a great direction, as there's even a little sunlight. I'm so proud of myself because I started writing my thesis seminar essay last night and continued today, and there's still lots of time before the deadline.

The raccoon dog necklace has been the only item I've bought this month. Yet.
It's second hand.

Today my plans included going shopping for furniture to use and hide kitty litter boxes, eating at a restaurant and continuing writing. I'm really feeling the spring, I've gotten rid of a lot of old stuff and the apartment now has so much room! Mainly around my dancing pole since I sold the old dining set that was very rarely used ;P But my last gecko is going to a new home tomorrow and the aquarium goes on Monday, so out with the old and in with the new! I've tried to be very frugal (aside from the tattoo and because of the tattoo) and I've only bought one item this month. Well if you exclude the sketch pad and top and skirt that are for a project, but projects don't count, right? ;D

And now on to the tattoo pictures! It's still a bit red and sore, but healing well. Here's pics from almost all directions. It's still missing colours and the lace background. In the front there's a rose and a lily, then around the back a bird skull with another rose. I was silly and didn't get a picture of the cat skull that's on the side closest to my body, but you can see part of it in the last picture. It has it's jaws open, which is perfect, my cats are very vocal so the skull is clearly saying a very loud meow ;D There's also a pearl string connecting the elements. I'm still contemplating on adding a moth there somewhere, but I'm sure my thoughts will clear before the next appointment.

You can see the tooth theme continues with my skirt! It's by Iron Fist.
