OMGWTF and Crypt Look

I almost never wear green, so the section for my green and yellow eyeshadows is the smallest one there is in my drawer unit where eyeshadows are stored. This time I wanted to do something to match my dress. It's a super old Lip Service dress made of China themed satin with safety pin accents. The seller had a horrible picture of the dress, but assured me the pattern on it was pink, so I got it for 25 euros. When it arrived the colour was a bit unusual, and with the muted pink it had red, green orange and golden yellow on it. I thought the green stood out the most so that was then the colour for my eyeshadow!

Full face. You can see the embroidery on the dress in this one, it's full of colours!

I used Fyrinnae OMGWTF for the inner corners, it's bright, light green. The crease is done with Detrivore Cosmetics' Crypt, a lovely olive green with a slight golden sheen. Brows are Inglot gel liner and on my lips is Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Dark Berry.

I'm so glad to be able to wear gel liner on my waterline! When I wore contacts my eyes just hated it, but now after Lasik it works!

Adoration and Resistance Look (and Natural Brows)

I've been experimenting with natural brows and let them grow back, which also means I've had less time in the morning to do my eyeshadow since I have to get the unruly brows in to order. I still hate them, but I'll try to let them grow just a little bit longer to see if they would magically transform into something I like.

For today's' fast eye look I used Adoration by Darling Girl Cosmetics and Resistance by Detrivore Cosmetics. The shadow on my brows is from a very old L'Oreal palette.

My considerate camera decided the funny little hairs at the end of the brow need to be the focal point of the picture.

Just look at those wonky little bastard brows growing all over the place ;D

I look so pale, even though I have blush on. And my forehead is enormous now
that I can't draw brows higher.

Louis The Arachnid Look

I had a little more time than usual in the morning, so I decided to put on eyeshadow to brighten my day! This is what I came up with.

I used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sugarpill Tako (matte white, inner corners and brow bone)
Detrivore Cosmetics Arachnid (shimmery warm pink, on the lid)
Antoinette's Revolution Louis (dark purple with a blue sheen, in the crease)
p2 100% black gel eyeliner
Black mascara

I think the look came out quite nice, although a lighter pink might have been a better choice. What do you think?

Livor Mortis Look

This look is from yesterday. I didn't have much time in the morning, so I opted for an easy smoky look with a twist. Livor Mortis by Detrivore Cosmetics was just the thing!

Livor Mortis is black with a burgundy sheen, making it look like a plummy purple or black depending on the light and angle. I feel it makes the green in my eyes really pop! I primed my lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion and padded Livor Mortis on the whole lid and blended the edges. Didn't bother with a highlight, since the shade was so dark.

Polar Bears and Purple

The Midsummer celebrations continued with some video games and going to a bar to have a few drinks. I found a useful tip on a Facebook group about using Fyrinnae Polar Bear with purple and wanted to try it out right away. I had used Polar Bear before, but didn't like it that much, since it was so yellow. But with purple it really seemed to come alive!

I used:

Face
Missha Perfect Cover BB-cream number 13
Detrivore Pallor Mortis powder
Fyrinnae Temptation blush (shading under cheek bones)
Evil Shades Gossamer blush (on top of cheek bones)

Eyes
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae Polar Bear (on inner part of lids)
Sugarpill Birtday Girl (on center of lids)
Sugarpill Hysteric (outer parts of lids, on brows with Evil Shades mixing medium)
Sugarpill Tako (brow bone)
Sugarpill Poison Plum (lower lids)
Sugarpill Bulletproof (just a touch to darken the crease)
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
L'Oreal Beauty Tubes mascara

Lips
Claire's purple lipstick
MSCHIC dark purple eyeliner as lipliner
Sugarpill Hysteric padded on top of lipstick

Hysteric doesn't match my hair, I think I'll try and look for a better match :)

Sorry about the blurry pics, I took the batteries from my flash to use in Wii
controllers so we could play Raving Rabbits with four players ;P I was
wearing a black satin shirt with a black miniskirt with suspenders. My
hair still has the curls from the day before, so I just brushed the curls open
and let it hang loose.

After the super awesome Midsummer I'm trying to shrug off a cold by drinking lots of hot tea, wish me luck! Only two weeks until the northernmost goth festival in the world, Lumous, starts. It's happening in my home town so luckily I don't have to travel anywhere ;)

Midsummer Look and Outfit

To celebrate Midsummer, my other half and I decided we would just stay home and do what came to mind, since we have been on the move every weekend since WGT. So we had a friend stay over, my other half cooked an excellent meal and then we all went to the park to enjoy the sun.

My cheek is still a bit swollen because of the wisdom tooth thingie, but I just
decided to do a really colourful eye make-up so no one will notice ;P

I opted for a black dress with lace inserts on the sleeves and body jewelry
I got from Gina Tricot some time ago. It goes so nice with plain black tops!

And here's what make-up I wore!

Brows
Sugarpill Hysteric with Evil Shades mixing medium, painted on top of Sugarpill Bulletproof

Eyes
Fyrinnae Javan Rhino (on the lid)
Detrivore Brine (on the edges of Javan Rhino to give the lid depth)
Fyrinnae Cuddlefish (in the crease)
Detrivore Death Valley (above Cuddlefish)
Sugarpill Tako (on brow bone and inner corner)
Sugarpill Stormy lashes
White kohl (on waterline)
MAC Blactrack (on upper lid, the lashes kinda make it disappear)

On the lower lid there's a gradient of Javan Rhino, Death Valley and Cuddlefish topped with a touch of Sugarpill Poison Plum.

Lips
Maybelline Super Stay 10h Tint Gloss (what a mouthful!) in Timeless Plum

It was so nice to do a colourful look, I've haven't been wearing eyeshadow for a few days because I've just been at home eating painkillers so the wisdom tooth wound will heal quick. I previously thought Cuddlefish is too blue-ish for me, but with these other colours it worked perfectly! Maybe I'll try a same type of look on top of Pixie Epoxy next time, so the glitter will show better :) My hair is curled with a curling wand (and really needs some new colour, my fringe is so faded from swimming in the lake last weekend!) and tossed to one side to show my undercut.

The day was really hot and the sun was blazing, so we put lace curtains on the
balcony to keep out the worst heat. Seems to work perfectly and the kitties liked it!
Another view of the curtains, they are from my grand mother and even had little hooks fitted
so they clipped on to our cat net conveniently. Last summer we made a frame with chicken wire
and fitted it to the balcony so we can keep the door open without fear that the kitties would
fall. There's also a window sill so the cats can sit and look outside, they seem to like it.
The lantern was found in the trash when we moved in, someone had thrown it out since it's
all rusted, but I liked it a gave it a new home :)

Grilling marshmallows in the park is fun! This pic was
taken around nine PM, the sun was still up and bright!

Not the correct way to eat a marshmallow ;P

A silly smiley pic ;D

Jacket - Lip Service
Dress - H&M
Body jewelry - Gina Tricot
Earrings - Claire's
Bracelets - Glitter (and WGT since I still have the wristband ;P)
Stay-up socks - Norlyn (maybe, they are really old)
Shoes - New Rock

I wanted to wear my new boots and they were so comfy! I'm really happy with them, I might adjust the straps a bit but the insole is soft and they are very easy to walk in. The socks were old, I just happened to find them in my sock pile and since they had a hole already, I ripped them some more. I have yet to master the art of ripping thighs nicely, so I just made some holes and went with that.

I think the lighting makes my eye colour look really nice :)

Happy midsummer to everyone! Remember to work some love spells if that's what you need in your life since this is the best time of the year for that :)

Brine and Fabulous Look

I wanted to use Brine from Detrivore Cosmetics, so I paired it with a lighter version of colour and did a simple look. Today I booked a time for the hairdresser to get my locks in order, haven't had my hair professionally coloured in many, many years. I'm hoping she can do something about the fact that the top layers of my hair fade a lot faster than the bottom ones.

I've been quite busy with everything, studies and work and all, but I hope I'll get back to the once a day update schedule :) I took some outfit pics yesterday, but forgot I tweaked the tripod a bit, resulting in my shoes being cut off in every single pic.

I used:

Detrivore Brine (lid and crease, blended up)
Glamour Doll Eyes Fabulous! (inner part of lid)
Sugarpill Tako (inner corners of eyes and brow bone)
Lumene Sweet Blush
Gosh lipstain 003 Berry
Missha Perfect Cover BB-cream in nro. 13

Sorry for the blurry pic, but you get the idea :)

Got a fancy Hipstamatic effect by taking the pic with curtains closed,
they gave a slight purple sheen to the whole room.

Detrivore Cosmetics Review

I placed and order with Detrivore Cosmetics in February and have been using the colours ever since. I ordered eyeshadow samples, a powder sample and three perfume samples. The order arrived fast and I like the eyeshadow formula very much, it's easy to blend and has staying power (not on it's own, I use Urban Decay Primer Potion).

I ordered 12 eyeshadow samples and a powder sample in baggies.

And put them into pots myself and just took the stickers from the baggies :)

Livor Mortis

Dagon

Macabre

Faithless

Vulture

Crypt

Sacrilege

Brine

Arachnid

Death Valley

Tarantula

Wraith

Crypt, Vulture, Faithless, Macabre, Dagon and Livor Mortis

Crypt - A black base with green shimmer and gold  glitter . Very complex.
Vulture - Matte mid brown base with multicoloured glitter.
Faithless - Dark pink base with pink glitter.
Macabre - Matte warm pink base with a small amount of multicoloured glitter.
Dagon - A matte pinkish lilac with a hint of pink glitter.
Livor Mortis - A black base with red shimmer and glitter. Much like Crypt, only red.

Sacrilege, Brine, Arachnid, Death Valley, Tarantula and Wraith
Sacrilege - A matte light brown with a hint of glitter.
Brine - A bold teal with some matching glitter.
Arachnid - A light warm pink with champagne glitter.
Death Valley - A bright dark pink, matte with a little amount of glitter.
Tarantula - An orangey brown with golden glitter.
Wraith - A warm dark brown with some golden glitter.

Aren't they cute? Three perfume samples: Kali, The King in Yellow and Ripper
I chose three perfume samples. I was expecting musky, earthy scents based on the names, but all were quite light and flowery. Kali smells mostly of orchid, the King in Yellow has citrus and orange, and Ripper is mostly lily of valley to my nose. Light, floral scents that remind me of soap. Not what I expected and not really my kind of scents, but they are very nice if you are looking for fresh, light, flowery spring-like scents.

I also had a sample of Pallor Mortis powder but I used it up already, so no pictures. It's a transparent loose powder and worked really well on my skin on top of foundation. I'm still staying with my Evil Shades Matte Silk, but Pallor Mortis seemed very similar.

Overall I was very happy with the order. The sample sizes are very generous and the shadow formula is great. The perfumes weren't really for me, but that's why there are samples! Everything was packed well and shipped fast.

Current 93

Yesterday I went to listen to Current 93 in Helsinki. The band is one of my favourites, although their records are quite varied and I don't like all the albums. The gig was at a theatre, with the audience seated. I had a good seat right in the first row on the balcony. I don't know what I was expecting, but I think the fist half of the performance was a bit boring, but luckily the last songs saved it. I love The Inmost Light and Lucifer over London!

Here's a version from youtube so you can enjoy it too :)

I wore a brown smokey eye look and forgot to take a picture of my outfit, but I had a simple little black dress, black tights and a black pvc bolero. When I got back to Tampere at 01:00 am, it was snowing and the whole city looked magical, if somewhat damp. The snowflakes were HUGE and wet and didn't last long on the ground. The poster I had bought at the show got some damage from the melting snow, but it's a nice souvenir still. When my hair was damp from the snowfall I put it up for the night to keep, and in the morning it had lovely waves to cheer up my tired start of the day!

Here's my look from yesterday. I first did it with only Detrivore Cosmetics, but felt the darker brown was still too light, so I added some Doe-eyed on top and somehow messed the blending and had to fix it with q-tips. I also used a new blending brush, it's nice but I need some time to get used to it.

I used:
Detrivore Cosmetics Tarantula (on inner half of lids)
Detrivore Cosmetics Wraith (on whole lid and crease)
Concrete Minerals Doe-Eyed (to darken the outer crease)
Evil Shades China Doll blush (I think my blush brush wasn't clean, the colour looks too dark to be only China Doll)
Gosh lipstain 003 Berry
