Outfit of the Day

Yesterday my other half's band was playing and I had promised to DJ for the evening. The other band of the night, called and the ocean, was also very good! I didn't know what to expect (I tried to do my research and looked them up on youtube so I could choose music to play that would fit the style, but found nothing) but they were really great. The venue was maybe a bit small for their performance, but I enjoyed it. Murnau's Playhouse also did an excellent job, I always love listening to them! Here's a link to and the ocean's Facebook page, and here's to Murnau's Playhouse's so you can listen to them even if you missed the event :)

I went for a classic smoky eye look with big curly hair and lots of pvc! I really need to dye my roots (and the undercut, since I cut it shorter and all the turquoise was cut off in the process) but other than that I think the hair came out really nice. I'm usually pretty lazy with my hair and more interested in make-up, but I think that's changing as my hair start to be the length that I've wanted. It doesn't show very well, but there's a turquoise clip-in streak somewhere in the hair.

Dress - Artifice Clothing
Tights - Backstreet
Boots - New Rock
Bag - Second hand
(and not showing well is my sequin bra from H&M, I decided to wear fancy underwear since the dress likes to let my bra peek a bit anyway)

Saturday Afternoon

I took some pictures of the apartment since my other half finally had the time to put my vanity table's light on the wall. We've both been so busy lately that we just come home to eat, sleep and play with the cats.

Vanity table, now with lights! The mirror was a b-day gift from Sari and Marko,
it's gorgeous!
Close-up, showing all the stuff I finally had time to put on the wall!
Without this clock I'd be late for work on most mornings.
A kitty figurine (an old housewarming gift from Niina) and my dirty brush holder.
Also a tower of blush samples and a hand-held mirror.
A made a thingie to hold my earrings, I think I even took pictures of the process.
The laces are too loose so it's not looking like I planned.
A pile of kitties enjoying the sun.
We have a tiny hallway-kitchenette, it gives to the bedroom.
The bookshelf in the living room.
Mörkö sunbathing on the sofa.
I fetched a pile of my old paintings and drawings from my old apartment's
attic. I sorted out which ones I want to keep, now I just have to pack them
somewhere away again.

Cyclopean Look

I am wearing Cyclopean by Geek Chic Cosmetics. I did a review of another eyeshadow from the same collection, called Non-Euclidean. I thought it looked very different in the shop swatch. Chantel was so kind as to put a free sample of Cyclopean in the bag when she sent me other shades to review. She said Cyclopean might be closer to the shade I had thought Non-Euclidean was, and she was totally right! This is just the right dark green shade I was looking for :)

I also tried adding mascara in the roots of my lashes with a small eyeliner brush, I think it worked really well and makes my make-up look more polished.

I'm wearing:
Geek Chic Cosmetics Cyclopean (dark green with bright green sheen, on the whole lid and crease)
Sugarpill Bulletproof (matte black, added lightly on top of Cyclopean in the crease and blended)
Sugarpill Tako (matte with, on inner corners)
MAC Fluidline Blactrack (matte black gel liner)

All Brown Look

On Wednesday I wore mainly taupes. Sorry about the badly cropped pictures, the kitties were so active in the morning that they woke me up hours before I was supposed to get up and I was feeling a bit tired. I guess it shows, since all my eye pictures were really weird ;P

I used:
Geek Chic Cosmetics Newb (shimmery champagne, on the whole lid and crease)
Fyrinnae Fire Opal (dark warm bronze, applied very lightly and blended to oblivion over Newb in the crease)
Fyrinnae Beholder (medium taupe with satin finish, padded lightly over Newb on the outer corner of the lid)

Blue and Pink Look

This is my look from yesterday. It was inspired by the look in this post's last picture. I rarely wear bright pink and am a bit vary of blues, but still wanted to try them both together! My pink seems a lot darker than what DeadlyDame used, but I think the look came out nice anyway. Might try it again with a lighter pink someday!

I used:
Sugarpill Dollipop (brigh matte pink, on the lid)
Sugarpill Afterparty (medium blue with a hint of shimmer, in the crease and blended up, on top of Bruise on lower lashline)
Concrete Minerals Bruise (very dark matte blue, in the deepest crease and on lower lashline topped with Afterparty)

I should really dye my lashes or maybe try to apply eyeliner
generously to hide the white roots.

Need Something to do on Saturday?

Next Saturday (6.4.) my other half's band is playing, come and listen! Murnau's Playhouse and "and the ocean" are performing. The gig takes place at O'Hara's Freehouse and starts at ten. Free entry! Here's a link to the Facebook event.

Ensi lauantaina (6.4.) O'Hara's Freehouse tarjoaa taas tekemistä gooteille! Murnau's Playhouse ja and the ocean esiintyvät alkaen kello kymmenen. Sisäänpääsy on ilmainen! Tässä vielä linkki Facebook-eventtiin.

PS. Do you guys like these event posts or are there too many of them? I myself have found it hard to stay on track on what's happening and when since everything is on Facebook and if you don't have friends in a certain scene, you don't get invitations.

PS.

New Things

I haven't done much shopping recently, I'm saving money, but I've got a few new items I'd like to show! First, here's a vanity case set my Mom got me and my other half as a gift from a trip to Berlin. Gorgeous! The outside is super shiny black PVC, and the lining inside is a neon reddish-orange colour. The zippers have pretty little silver balls as decoration and the larger one is quite big. These are just perfect for Wave Gotik Treffen!

And this one I bought myself, a small handbag from the Finnish goth fleamarket group on Facebook. I was a bit hesitant at first, because I have many bags and it's hard to find the right purple tone that goes well with my hair. But since the seller was a friend of mine and having a party soon so we'd see anyway, I decided to have a look at the baggie and see IRL if the tone was to my liking. And it was! Just the right purple to match my hair :)

Spider detail.

And where there are spiders, there's also cobweb!
