A-England Jane Eyre Nail Polish

I bought a-england's Jane Eyre and Ophelia some time ago, but hadn't gotten around to taking decent pictures. I like dark polishes, they make my skin look pale, so I tried Jane Eyre last week.

Jane Eyre in the bottle is a black, opaque base with cool red sparkle.
This one is taken in natural light and shows the subtle burgundy sparkle and flakes.

With flash the sparkle really comes alive!

All in all Jane Eyre most of the time looks like a basic black polish on the nails. It isn't nearly as shimmery as in the bottle. Only with bright light the sparkle can be seen. However it lasts long, is easy to apply and I really like the brush. I think this might be my neatest manicure so far, no spilled polish on cuticles! The trick was to paint the nails so that the tips were pointing down and the nails were facing me, with the hand halfway to making a fist.

    1. Nice to know you like it! I was expecting the glitter to show a bit more, but it's a nice black polish as is :)

  2. I ditto what Kakuidori said-- every single bit, yes!
I really want something like that with purple gliiter-- it looks wonderful and subtle.

    1. The line actually has a polish with purple glitter, it's called Ophelia, but it shows the glitter even worse than this one. It's super pretty in the bottle, but once on nails, the glitter seems to totally disappear. The idea is good but it just doesn't work with these nail polishes.

  3. If only the red sparkle were more apparent... I would buy it in a heartbeat then!!

    1. I feel the same way! Maybe I could just blend in some more glitter, since it's so subtle now.

  4. Leivoinpa juuri neuvomallasi piirakkaohjeella! Odottelen, että se on kypsynyt uunissa. :)

    1. Toivottavasti tuli herkullista!
