And a Crafty Sunday!

Today was dedicated to crafts. We had a ladies craft night (well, a day since it was Sunday and we started early), which means plenty of gossip, cookies, tea and handicrafts. I had tons of stuff I wanted to get done, so I didn't have the time to snack and drink so much. But at least I got many projects in a good phase!

I made a opera shrug with black and white fabric, started on two hats and finished a tiara. The stripey hat is missing some decorative trim around its edges, the purple and pink one might still need some decorations, and I didn't get a picture of the shrug. I'm very happy with the black tiara, it's made from clock hands attached on a metal headband and painted black with an airbrush (my first time using it and I did fine, yay!). I'm preparing for next weeks goth festival by making tons of stuff I won't even have the time to wear. Well, at least I'll have something to choose from!

I'm still hoping on starting with sewing a long lace skirt, if I still have energy after fixing myself some late dinner.

  1. wow well done the tiara is very beautiful! sewing is hard work that you need some patience for, I've been making a long sleeved shrug today and the machine is falling to pieces its so old so stressy haha, I'd love to see your shrug :)

    1. Thank you! I hope your machine holds up and you can finish the shrug :) Mine has been acting up ever since a cat peed on it (don't ask, I have no idea how that's even possible!) and I've been thinking of taking it to a shop for maintenance.

    1. Thanks! I found the idea for the tiara on Etsy, they had fancier tiaras with clock hands of different sizes, but I made mine with what I could find and I think it works just fine :)

    1. Thanks! And an excellent idea, I had a few hands left over, maybe some nice earrings would compliment the tiara!

  8. What a beautiful tiara <3 But personal favorite the black and white it has a lovely shape! It is hard to make them? (i mean they are small is not like something more big like a skirt!)

    1. Thank you! They are not so hard to make, the hardest part is to find matching trim, veiling, decorations and fabric and to get everything to look good together. Then it's only a few stiches and some glueing and it's all done :) My clock hands came from the Finnish eBay, veiling was from an Etsy seller, trim was given by a friend and the flower are from Ikea sales ;)
