Snow Queen Make-Up, First Try

Here's a few close-ups of the Snow Queen make-up I did! This is the first version, I'll do at least one more when I finish the outfit for the shoot. I think I did well on the eyes aside from the lashes, the mint coloured strip they have is too bright and takes attention away from the eyeshadow. I think the silver brows are cool and I like the lips too, but darker lips or lip liner at least might give the look some more oomph.

Products used

Sugarpill Lumi (a shimmery white with a blue sheen) and Tiara (silver, also on brows)
Antoinette's Revolution Marie (pale blue)
Fyrinnae Digital Faerie (bright metallic blue)
Fyrinnae Debonair (medium purple)
Grimas Tip Cream (glitter gel, on brows)
Lumene lipstick in pale blue (with Tiara padded on top)
Mac Fluidline gel liner in Blacktrack
IsaDora Volume & Curl mascara in black
Stargazer white liquid eyeliner
Red Cherry Mint Treat lashes

I like how the eyeshadow matches with the necklace!

I did the white dots with the pointed end of a teasing comb. I would have used a
nail dotting tool if I could have found mine.

Too bright lashes! The strip also hides my liner making the eyes less well defined.

All of my eyes shut shots care out blurry, but I think you can see the shadow placement in this one :)

And the lips. There's a sheer blue lipstick as a base and Tiara eyeshadow padded on top for coverage and shimmer.
What do you think? Would darker lips work better?

Super Easy Valentine's Look

Shiro Cosmetics Day of Reckoning - dark metallic burgundy
Antoinette's Revolution Pink Rose - medium pink
Sugarpill Tako - matte white

A very easy Valentine's look! I used a dark burgundy for the crease, but a plum purple works also. Pink on the lid makes it sweet. Especially if you have green eyes, these shades will make your eyes really shine. I used matte white on the tearduct and brow bone to brighten the shades and make my eyes look more open.

Simple Purple Look

Here's a look I wore this week to the office. I wanted to try Fyrinnae's Snow White, which is a pitch black matte shadow. With it I used Antoinette's Revolution Marie Therese, which is a dark lavender with some silver microglitter, and a touch of Femme Fatale Faerie Fire, a light sheer pink with a strong green shift. The purple is on the whole lid and blended up past the crease, light pink is on the brow bone and inner corners, and black shadow is used lightly in the crease on top of the purple.

I might have gone a little overboard with the blush, but I just love Evil Shades Ceylon ;P

Louis The Arachnid Look

I had a little more time than usual in the morning, so I decided to put on eyeshadow to brighten my day! This is what I came up with.

I used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sugarpill Tako (matte white, inner corners and brow bone)
Detrivore Cosmetics Arachnid (shimmery warm pink, on the lid)
Antoinette's Revolution Louis (dark purple with a blue sheen, in the crease)
p2 100% black gel eyeliner
Black mascara

I think the look came out quite nice, although a lighter pink might have been a better choice. What do you think?

Bella Morte Calls The Ships To Port

Last night was Bella Morte club, this time held in a restaurant next to a lake. Sadly the weather was rainy, so people couldn't fully enjoy the large terraces, but otherwise the location was ideal! A large dancefloor and plenty of tables to sit at and chat. I met some old friends I hadn't seen in a while, it was lovely to just hang around and talk while drinking beer in the cold Finnish summer. My other half was DJ'ing, so there was bound to be some good music, also ;P

Here's my party look! I forgot to take a picture of the full outfit, but I wore a pvc bolero, purple and black corset and black satin hotpants with black tights and purple glittery boots. I have to take a picture of the boots some day, they are really awesome and got lots of compliments!

I used:

Face
Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in nro 13
Evil Shades Matte Silk powder
Evil Shades blush in Pink Noise

Eyes
TheBodyNeeds Blackened Violet
Antoinette's Revolution Louis
Sugarpill Taco
Red Cherry spider web lashes

Lips
Maybelline Super Stay 10h Tint Gloss in Timeless Plum
Morgana Cryptoria lipstick in Licorice

Look at the pretty lashes!

Timeless Plum with some Licorice at the edges, blended in.

Full face (and my favourite curtains in the background)

Me and my other half! He made the tie clip himself using a cameo I made.

You can see my wonderful PVC bolero, it's really hot but otherwise nice. Also the little hat
I got from Leipzig and my favourite necklace with skeleton hands. Managed to break one
of the fingers, but they have been glued so many times before that it's not a surprise anymore!

And my other half ready to play some records! He's wearing Sugarpill Midori
(I suggested it to bring out his lovely brown eyes, do you think it works?) and
Morgana Cryptoria lipstick in Licorice. And some tacky sunglasses from Restyle ;P

I've treated myself to some Diablo 3, so it might affect the blog updating a bit ;P I'm already at level 14 and love the game! I played both previous Diablos with great fervour and this one seems no different. I've also managed to do some shopping (even though I've been crazy busy, full days at a game seminar and lots of work to be done) and have a necklace, corset and some games coming in. More on those once they arrive!

Green and Purple Look

This is what I wore on Saturday! I wanted to try my new Madd Style Cosmetics eyeshadows, so I chose to make a look around Seedless, a light baby pink with amazing turquoise-green shift. It's really amazing!

I used:
Sugarpill Tako (brow bone and inner corners)
Madd Style Cosmetics Seedless (inner part of lid)
Antoinette's Revolution Louis (outer lid and crease)
MAC Fluidline Blacktrack (eyeliner)

Purple Eyeshadow and Shopping

I wore Louis by Antoinette's Revolution Cosmetics on Friday and put on a red lipstain to go with it.

Look at the pretty blue sheen!

Max Factor lipstain in 06, with MIYO gloss on top.

The purple makes my eyes look really green, I think.

I tried to get away one more day with the curls,
so I put my hair in a ponytail on one side.

Also made those earring a week ago! They jingle when I walk.

I've also been shopping a bit, although I'm trying to save money for the upcoming trip to Leipzig. I got a Dita von Teese book from the Finnish goth fleamarket on Facebook, and bought the other book from Bookdepository.com. I got them both mainly for the nice pictures :) The art of burlesque has tons of pretty pictures of Dita, and the empire of death is a study of charnel houses and ossuaries. Meaning lots of pictures of bones, mummies, decorated skeletons and such. Here's the website of Empire of Death, there's some nice pictures there too. I can't remember who's blog had the link, because that's how I found the book. I'm still reading A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin, but I always have time to look at pretty pictures.

Gradient Eyeliner

We had friends over, so I thought I might as well try to look nice and opted for nude lips and colourful eyes, and did a look that fit the Never Too Much Shimmer challenge for this week. We had some pasta, cheese cake and watched a film called TrollHunter. I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to see the other movie, but it was a Czech animation and looked scary with stop motion clay animation and a dead rabbit. As a conclusion, I'd say food and friends go well together, and Norwegian sounds funny. It's like they have no space between words, just this constant mumble ;)

On to the look! The challenge was gradient, so I did gradient eyeliner. I put a line of black on my lid first, then did the gradient line above it. It doesn't suit my heavy lids very well, but was still fun to do. The colours wanted to transfer on to my upper lid even with it covered in nude shadow.

I used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Evil Shades Mixing Medium
MAC Yogurt (on the whole lid)
Lost in Makeupland blush Alive
Dermosil lipgloss Classic Rose

Eyeshadows starting from the inner corner of the eye:
Evil Shades Bittersweet Symphony
Sugarpill Magentric
Antoinette's Revolution Marie Therese
Fyrinnae Faerie Glamour
Sugarpill Starling

Dermosil Classic Rose, a nude gloss

The earrings were made by me!

Green With Envy Look

I wanted to participate in Never Too Much Shimmer Facebook group's weekly make-up showcase, this week the theme was Green with Envy. I don't really use green much, I think it takes the colour out of my green-blue eyes, but I decided to give it a go anyway! I have some green shadows so it's about time I learned how to use them :P
To help with my fear of green, I decided to add some pink to the look and it seemed to work out nicely. I managed to catch some natural light today as I was working from home, so the colours look good and true to life.

Open eye

Closed eye

Full face

This shows the eyeshadows better, I think!
This is what I used, I listed the colour descriptions also so this can be done with any similar products!

Eyes
Sugarpill Absinthe (Light grass green with green and gold sparkle)
Sugarpill Junebug (Dark army green with green shimmer and glitter)
Sugarpill Tako (plain matte white)
Fyrinnae Dragon Magic (Forest green with teal glitter)
Antoinette's Revolution Liaisons (Strong cool pink, close to magenta)
Antoinette's Revolution Le Soleil (Greenish yellow)
Evil Shades Suffocation (The perfect pink! A cool light pink with a blue shift)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil in Zero (Black)
Random false eyelashes

Lips & Face
ELF Liquid Lipstick in Pink Lemonade (Dark cool pink)
ELF Natural Radiance Blush in Flushed (A dark shimmery cool pink)

I started with Urban Decay Primer Potion and went on applying some Sugarpill Tako to the inner corner of my eyes. Continued with some Antoinette's Revolution Le Soleil on upper lid towards the center of the lid and switched to Sugarpill Absinthe, working it on the rest of the lid and up past the crease. Added some Fyrinnae Dragon Magic to darken the crease, but it didn't show up that well, so I went over it with Sugarpill Junebug. Added Tako as a highlight below the brow.

On lower lid I did the outer corner and a wing with Antoinette's Revolution Liaisons and switched to Evil Shades Suffocation at the inner corner. Also faded the lower edge of Liaisons with Suffocation. Added black eyeliner and falsies.

Lips were simply done with ELF liquid lipstick, they are one of my favourite products from ELF. Very easy to use, have a nice amount of colour but not so much that they would need lipliner or look silly as they fade away. The blush is nearly the same shade as the lipstick and I just thought it went well with the pink eyeshadow and lipstick, I didn't want to have many different shades of pink on at the same time.

As an afterthought, I maybe should have put Absinthe even higher above the crease towards the eyebrows, or fade it out with some other colour to make a smoother border between it and the Taco highlight. I'll try that next time.

Bonus pic with a smile! I'm so shy about smiling in photos, but I wanted to experiment and thought this picture came out nice :)

Am I green with envy?
