Everyday Smoky

Today I whipped up a smoky eye for work, just for fun! I used a metallic dark plum purple called Volta by Lost in Makeup Land. It works well with my light green eyes. Along with Volta there's only a touch of matte white (Sugarpill Tako) at the inner corners and some white eyeliner with which I tried to paint a little V in the inner corners but failed miserably. Better luck next time! And I'll use a better brush too ;P

May Day Make-Up

May Day's make-up look! This is Femme Fatale The Nightmare on the lid, Femme Fatale Faerie Fire in the inner corners and on the edges of The Nightmare, Sugarpill Dollipop on the lower lashes, Lost in Makeupland Say It Isn't So blush and Maybelline Superstay 10H Tint Gloss in Timeless Plum.

I tried painting my lower lashes with eyeshadow mixed with mixing medium, but it really didn't work. My mixing medium is glycerine based, which I later found out mainly means that it doesn't dry. At all. Ever. So, this meant everything my lashes touched turned pink! The colour transferred to my under eyes so I just gently patted it off from the lashes when I noticed the catastrophe. The idea was good, but my execution was lacking ;P

Look at the gorgeous green sheen!

Special thanks to Jenni for selling me the extra shadows she had, I really love these colours!

Psychedelic Mushroom Look

I wanted a simple smoky look for a day at the office. So I went for one of my oldest eyeshadows, Psychedelic Mushroom by Lost in Makeupland. It looks like a dark purple in the pot, but goes on sheer and with a more pink than purple shift. An interesting shade indeed! I paired a bold lip colour with it the give the look some character.

I bought a pink and white lily from the super market last week, it's blooming now!

I used:
Lost in Makeupland Psychedelic Mushroom
Sugarpill Bulletproof (as liner and for brows)
Maybelline Super Stay 10H Tint Gloss Forever Fuchsia

May Day Look

Here's my May Day look, I'll do a post with more pictures of what I was up to later :) I was going out for a picnic, so I wanted a look that's not too fussy but still pretty. And I wanted curls, so I popped on two sets of clip-in extensions and curled the whole lot with the curling wand. Also dyed my hair with a mix of Directions Violet and Rose Red (2 parts Violet, 1 part Rose Red) to match the extensions better.

I used:
Missha Perfect Cover BB-cream in nro. 13
Evil Shades Matte Silk powder

Fyrinnae Cuddlefish
Lost in Makeupland Volta
Sugarpill Hysteric
Sugarpill Tako
Maybelline Super Stay Tint Gloss in Forever Fuchsia
Elf blush in Flushed
Random false lashes

Here's my outfit! I wore a leather jacket outside, it was still pretty cold.

Shirt - Second hand
Belt - Only (maybe? Can't remember)
Skirt - Lip Service
Bracelets - Glitter

Another shot with a silly smile ;)

Here you can see the curls better! I was very happy with them, I love long curly hair :)

Gradient Eyeliner

We had friends over, so I thought I might as well try to look nice and opted for nude lips and colourful eyes, and did a look that fit the Never Too Much Shimmer challenge for this week. We had some pasta, cheese cake and watched a film called TrollHunter. I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to see the other movie, but it was a Czech animation and looked scary with stop motion clay animation and a dead rabbit. As a conclusion, I'd say food and friends go well together, and Norwegian sounds funny. It's like they have no space between words, just this constant mumble ;)

On to the look! The challenge was gradient, so I did gradient eyeliner. I put a line of black on my lid first, then did the gradient line above it. It doesn't suit my heavy lids very well, but was still fun to do. The colours wanted to transfer on to my upper lid even with it covered in nude shadow.

I used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Evil Shades Mixing Medium
MAC Yogurt (on the whole lid)
Lost in Makeupland blush Alive
Dermosil lipgloss Classic Rose

Eyeshadows starting from the inner corner of the eye:
Evil Shades Bittersweet Symphony
Sugarpill Magentric
Antoinette's Revolution Marie Therese
Fyrinnae Faerie Glamour
Sugarpill Starling

Dermosil Classic Rose, a nude gloss

The earrings were made by me!
