Now Playing Look with Glitter Bows

I seem to have found the background that is closest to my hair colour, so that I can perfectly blend in ;D Anyway, on Friday a friend asked me to come and see a burlesque show with her, and it was the perfect excuse to log out of World of Warcraft for a while. It was cold as eff outside, but that didn't stop me from putting on some fancy make-up.

The look is done with ColourPop shadows from the Now Playing set I reviewed. The lipstick is by Black Moon Cosmetics.

For some reason I look chubbier than usual in this pic. But it was still the best one of the set,
so you get a chubby me today.

I found these super cute glitter bows in the children's section at H&M. Couldn't resist! My fringe growing project is in a state that I usually need to pin back some hair to keep it from falling on my face constantly.

Metallic green lippie by Black Moon Cosmetics, this shade is called Myth.
Myth looks more teal is the shop pictures, and a bit more blue in natural light than my picture taken inside with just artificial light. I'm a big fan of Black Moon Cosmetics lipsticks and Myth is no exception, the formula is wonderful. Easy to apply, stays on well and doesn't need touching up.

ColourPop Patchwork on the lid, Babykins on the inside of the lid and Peekaboo as a tear duct highlight.

My brows are done with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics lip liner in Black Dahlia, and the eyeliner Kat von D tattoo liner is black. The Kat von D liner is hands down the best I've ever had. Crips, clear lines, no smudging, doesn't transfer on my oily lids = perfection.

Black Moon Cosmetics Wrath

Black Moon Cosmetics never seizes to amaze me! This lipstick is called Wrath. In the tube it looks a bit blah, but on the lips it's just gorgeous. The shade is close enough to my lip shade that when it fades a bit in the center, it doesn't really show. It's great at bringing out my lips but not making them pop too much, probably a really great pair with dark eyes! The colour is not quite red, it leans a bit to mauve and to brown, but it's the perfect mix of all of these. Easy on the eyes but still unique and interesting, a compelling shade!

Once again the formula is perfect. Easy to apply, lasts well, and removal is easy with an oil based make-up remover.

Black Moon Cosmetics Selene

Black Moon Cosmetics just released new lipstick shades, and being the lipstick hoarder that I am, I absolutely needed three of the four new ones. This one is called Selene. In the tube Selene looks like a very shimmery brownish plum tone. On my lips the shade is a bit more toned down than I'd like. The metallic sheen is reduced to a faint sheen, but the plum purple goes really nicely with my skin tone.

I'm a big fan of the Black Moon Cosmetics lipstick formula, and Selene is just as great as the older shades. While the lipsticks are liquid-to-matte, they are not as thick and drying as many matte lippies. They are closer to Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams than for example ColourPop Ultra Mattes or La Splash matte lipsticks. While the Black Moon lipsticks can smudge a little bit, it's not a problem and only happens if you actually smudge your lips on something, which is not common. The lipstick does not bleed and lasts for hours without any need to touch it up. While the shade is not as metallic as I hoped, it's easy to wear and the formula is great.

Black Moon Cosmetics Lipstick in Deranged

Another shot from yesterday! I wore Deranged by Black Moon Cosmetics for the first time and loved it. It's a dramatic dark red, perfect for classic evening looks or to be paired with dark smoky eyes for a more gothic twist. The lipstick did not bleed and only needed one touch up during the whole day. I also like how re-applying on top of the old lipstick layer does not make the product crumble on lips. It's a but more dry with a second layer, but not too dry.

I'm wearing Concrete Minerals Lolita on my lids to give just a hint of colour. I had no time for a dark smoky, light ones are much faster and easier!

Black Moon Cosmetics Libra Lipstick

I fell in love with Black Moon Cosmetics' packaging when I saw a picture of their liquid lipsticks on Instagram and just had to get a few right when they were released. The lipsticks arrived yesterday and I tried Libra today for the first time.

The consistency is really interesting. Technically the lipsticks are liquid to matte type, but instead of drying fully, they go velvety on the lips with the tiniest hint of stickiness. This makes them very moisturizing and comfortable to wear, as regular liquid to mattes are often very drying and can crumble on lips. The closest product to the Black Moon Cosmetics' lipsticks I own are Nyx Matte Lip Creams that have a very similar feel on the lips.

Libra does not bleed and has great staying power. You don't need a liner and while the product is not smudge proof, it's not easy to get it to smudge. The website says the lipsticks are kiss proof and I think that's a greta way to describe the consistency! Moisturizing, not like regular liquid to mattes, but can take a lot of kissing without any smudges.

My only negative notion is that Libra is a lot darker on me than on the website pictures and a bit warmer. I was expecting a matte lipstick that would be very light, cool shade close to La Splash Ghoulish, but these things happen when you shop for very new products that don't have many user pictures on the net. The shade is still nice, but not as "me" shade as a paler, cooler one would have been. The models in their pictures just happen to have a bit different skin tone than me, I'm almost jealous as Libra looks so good on them!

I splurged on the whole set of four lipsticks, so I'm excited to try the other shades! The consistency is so nice that I expect the other shades to please me even more than Libra :)
