Demon Hunter Look

First of all a big thanks to everyone who voted for me, I won the cosplay contest! I'm so happy and proud, thanks for helping me achieve this! I'm already dreaming of what costume I should do next, I think my enthusiasm for crafts really pays off in this hobby ;D

For the Demon Hunter cosplay, I naturally did a make-up look that I felt fit the character well. I did my regular base with BB-cream and powder, did some contouring with a grey-brown eyeshadow all over the face (the camera doesn't seem to pick it up very well). For the eyes I wanted a neutral smoky eye that would bring out my white contact lenses nicely but not look too made up. I chose a medium matte taupe from the Revealed palette by Coastal Scents, and darkened the crease with Doe-eyed by Concrete Minerals and brow bone accent is Sugarpill's Tako, a matte white. Very simple but effective! On top of those there's only black gel liner and mascara.

The lips are done with a Born Pretty matte long lasting lipstick that's very close to my natural lip shade. I wanted to define the lips but not make them look like there's actual lipstick on, because in pictures of the Demon Hunter she seems to have natural lips. I knew I needed some extra oomph for the stage as bright light would make my natural lips look too pale, so a matte natural shade it was.

The Demon Hunter has short dark hair, so I did black brows to match. This picture is taken after the contest, so the brows are a little bit faded because my hood was in the face and rubbing on them. I actually quite like the cropped simple hair on me, I think I'll use this wig again some day!

Here's a few shots taken before I put the contact lenses on. I only applied them at the convention venue, because they do obscure my sight a bit. Everything looks a bit misty when seen through the lenses, so I would not dream of putting on make-up with the lenses in place.

The finished eye make-up with the lenses!

Video Look

Here's a super simple look I did on Thursday. I was doing an interview about the game I'm working on, and the reporter wanted to do it in video. I usually wear only a little bit make-up to work, especially at this stage of a project when things are quite hectic, but I wanted to look nice for the video so I put on a decent face.

My thought was that dark lips and neutral eyes would work well on screen and not take away from my freshly dyed locks. The lips are Mac Nightmoth pencil and Cyber lipstick, and eyes are done with Coastal Scents Revealed palette. I'm happy my bangs are finally long enough to be swept aside, they've been a tiny bit too short for what seems like ages! ;D

Easy Neutral Look

Just another easy everyday look done with the Revealed palette by Coastal Scents. I stayed late in the office and had a pole dancing lesson in the morning, super tired now so only a few pictures! I tried a Maybelline Superstay 10H Tint Gloss in brown on my lips, got it on discount and thought to give it a try. I think it's too brown for me, but maybe it works for office looks. It's kinda nineties. I used Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow pen as liner, it arrived in a LivBox which I ordered to try out. It's a simple, easy black pen, but I feel it's better as a liner than for doing the whole lid.

I'm heading to Helsinki again for the weekend and I'm supposed to be packing my bag, but I'm so tired I'm sure I'll forget something!

Revealed Look Again

A lighter and darker metallic shade from the Coastal Scents Revealed palette were used to create this look. It's proving to be just what I wished, a palette with easy everyday neutral shades that work well together. It's maybe a little bit dark when used with my complexion, but I still like it a lot!

Revealed Look

I ordered the Revealed palette from Coastal Scents on black friday and it arrived a few days ago. It's inspired by Urban Decay's Naked palettes. I wanted something that's easy to use for fast everyday neutral looks, and after a few tries the Revealed seems like an excellent choice! I don't have pictures of the other looks, I haven't been home during the hours when there's light, but today I finally was able to take pictures.

A fast smoky look with two colours, a light shimmery one in the inner corner and a medium shimmery brown on the lid and crease.
And full face. Just some BB-cream, light blush and tinted lip balm.
