Gothic Night Look

I promised to DJ at a new event in Bar Bändäri. They were having a Gothic Night first time ever, and I'm so glad I got to be part of it! Many people came, the music was good and the antique sofas of the bar were soooo nice and comfy and pretty. It's always great to see an event do well!

I went to the hairdressers the day before the event to get my hair dyed and to try out a hairdo for the wedding, so I still had the curls the hairdresser put in. When loose, my hair looked kinda eighties, which is cool! I usually wear larger curls, but this is a fun look too.

I just love the different shades the hairdresser put in my hair! There's sections of purple, bright pink and more muted pink and purple. All done with Elumen so my bathroom doesn't look like a massacre after shower and the colour lasts a long time (in hair, not on bathroom floor ;D).

Femme Fatale eyeshadows, some Sugarpill Tako, a pink from Urban Decay Spectrum palette, and glitter lips. I did the lips so that I lined them with a liquid to matte Sephora lipstain (it's actually a lipstick, I don't know why they call it a stain), then added some Urban Decay Jawbreaker to the middle and a bit on top of the stain, then padded on loose glitter. Works like a charm! Thanks to the liquid to matte the lipstick doesn't bleed on smudge at the edges, but the traditional wax based lipstick in the middle is a lot more comfortable to wear. And the glitter just makes everything amazing.

WGT Look

Here's one look from WGT! I used Glamour Doll Eyes' Celestial Crow for the outer part of the lid and Femme Fatale's Eternal Trance on the inner part. I don't think I've done a smoky with two equally dark shades before, but I quite like the effect! I did the eye make-up in the morning and put on nude lipstick so I could safely eat without smudging dark lipstick everywhere, but changed into a darker lip shade in the evening. I think the eyes work with both light and dark lips. The light lipstick in the pictures is Essence's Come Naturally, a great nude shade I picked up at a DM in Leipzig. Essence has a whole collection of nudes in different tones, Come Naturally is almost the same shade as my lips naturally are, so I can use it just to smooth them out and give a hint of definition around the edges.

Schatten Look

This look was done for the Club Schatten Reunion party which was super fun! I really like how the look came out :)

Stripe Make-Up

Here's a few close-ups of the make-up I did for taking pictures with the stripy jacket. I wanted a smoky eye with some colour and short brows. And I just couldn't resist the dark purple lippie!

The false lashes work very well for my hooded eyes. Long lashes open up the eyes and give a nice liner look too. I think I should have primed the lids with a black jumbo eye pencil to get the black to look deeper, but I'll try that next time. When I blend out the edges of the black it tends to go a bit sheer.

The camera makes the black fade! I just need to pile on more the next time I do smoky eye for a shoot ;D

Smoky with a Touch of Blue Look

I did this look for the 80's party last Saturday. My plan was to do a smoky look but with a touch of colour. My choice for the colour part was Femme Fatale eyeshadow in Dreamstate. It's a dark blue with a green sheen. With the matte black I used for the smoky part Dreamstate looks quite a bit darker than usual, but the green comes out very nicely. The lashes are by Sugarpill, a pair called Stormy.

My brows are done with Inglot gel liner and on the lips is Fyrinnae matte lipstick in Delicious, a medium purple, with just a hint of the same product in Desire, a darker purple, on the outer edges to give an impression of fuller lips.

I really like how the smoky eye turned out and the touch of colour seems to work well. Next time I'll experiment with something brighter to see how I can blend the colours! I'm also very fond of my new contouring shade, Beaver eyeshadow by Make-Up Store. I saw Rose Shock recommend it and hunted high and low for the shade. Seems that the Finnish sellers no longer carried it, but luckily I went on a trip to Sweden and the airport tax free shop had plenty of Beaver ;P 

My jaw line is not very defined, but a little touch of Beaver helps a lot and it works well with my complexion. Most contouring products are too warm for my pale Scandinavian skin, but Beaver is a totally matte grey-brown that blends in perfectly. I also own Taupe by Nyx, but Beaver is by far superior. Taupe has too little pigment for my taste.

Any suggestions on what shade I should try next with the smoky look? I have over 200 eyeshadows so I'm pretty sure I can manage almost any shade suggested ;D

Soft Purple and Pink Look

I wore this look to just play board games with friends after Christmas. I wanted to do a bold lip colour after wearing just natural shades for a few days while spending time with family.

Purple and pink really compliment the green in my eyes!

Green, Blue and Grey Look

I did this look on the weekend. It's all Femme Fatale shadows, because I suddenly remembered how much I like them. I paired the grey - blue eyes with a bright pink lippie, this time Addis Ababa shade of Nyx Soft Matte Cream.

Nivek turns ten next month. He hates being in photos ;D

He's named after the singer of Skinny Puppy, Nivek Ogre. I guess the name did not give
Nivek the kitty courage and power, he's scared of shoes, silicone insoles and plastic bags.
But he's still a great cat, my first one and the only one of our cats who loves being talked to!

Glowing Green Look

This one is from last week. The pictures were taken when the sun was setting, so they are a little bit too warm. The yellow light cancels out the lavender tones of the light shadow on the lid. The look turned out quite dramatic!

I used:
Femme Fatale Banshee Scream (very pale lavender with a green sheen, on the inner corners and lid)
Shiro Cosmetics Steve. (bright turquoise, on the outer lid, inner lower lid and in the lower part of the crease)
Femme Fatale Ultimate Wizards (blackened purple with purple microglitter, in the crease and outer lower lid, the colour lost most of the glitter when I blended it so it looks just plain dark)

Essence Miss Universe and Femme Fatale Nightsong Grotto Nails

I broke two nails and decided I need a new shape to the nails to let them grow again. Kierra of Look What the Bats Dragged In has lovely short stiletto type nails and I decided to try a similar shape. I believe they are called baby stilettos, which fits perfectly! I tried to keep the length in some of my nails, so I'll see if the stiletto shape makes them break easy or something similar.

So yesterday I filed my nails in a new shape and put on some glittery polish to finish the look! There's a base of two coats of essence Miss Universe and one coat of Femme Fatale Nightsong Grotto. Simple and sparkly!

Faerie Fire and Deepmoss Look

I've been suffering from post-WGT melacholy for the last few days, adjusting back to work seems hard and I crave for pretty clothes. Today I decided to look nice and have a drink to easy the transition (my other half cooked currywurst on Thursday which also helped ;P), so here's a look done with Inglot gel liner, Femme Fatale eyeshadows called Faerie Fire and Deepmoss, and IsaDora lip stain in Vintage Wine. I re-dyed my hair earlier this week with Crazy Color Pinkissimo since the sun has faded the shade to a lavender tone at the festival.

It's quite a light look actually, the main thing is the lovely green sheen of Faerie Fire! It's a pale pink with a strong green shift. Deepmoss is a deep shimmery teal, I used it just to darken the outer edge and lower lid a bit. My eyebrows are done with Inglot gel liner, which is totally magical, it stayed pristine in the sweat and heat of WGT festival!

IsaDora Color Chock Lip Stain in Vintage Wine. Such a pretty shade, and now my camera even picked up the hint of blue shimmer in it!

The camera seemed to think I'm an albino ;P Pink hair helps a lot with getting the
right color balance with automatic settings, the turquoise was much harder for
some reason!

Glitter Gradient Nails

I can't remember where I saw a picture of a beautiful glitter gradient manicure, but it stuck to my mind. I made my own version using Spindleweb by Femme Fatale. It's a polish with a petrol blueish sheer base and lots of turquoise and green glitter in various sizes.

I first put a neutral skintone polish on my nails, then added a few coats of Spindleweb with each layer ending closer to the tip than the previous, then finished with a fast drying top coat. An easy look and quite fast to do!
