Watching Paint Dry

Well not actually watching, aside from the occasional peek but I'm waiting for the painted floor of our study to dry. All the furniture is packed into the living room so it's quite tight in here at the moment! The cats love it, they have so many new nooks and crannies to explore.

Tomorrow we'll stuff everything (including cats) into the study and paint the living room. 

I think the worst part is waiting, I'm perfectly happy sanding and painting, but now I just have to do other stuff until the floor is ready!

Sugarpill Olivia Look

Sugrapill released a new limited edition eyeshadow last week, it's called Olivia. I had been wanting to order another one of their excellent eyeliner brushes, and decided to get the eyeshadow with it. The package arrived today so I immediately tried out both the brush and the shadow!

Sugarpill Chromalust Olivia on the lid, a touch of Tako on the inner corner and brow bone. Brows done with Inglot purple gel liner and Sugarpill eyeliner brush. Liner done with Sugarpill eyeliner brush and MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. I did one brush stroke in the wrong direction on the winged part, so I just camouflaged it to look like I meant to have an extra line ;P

Olivia is applied on top of Urban Decay Primer Potion. To get an even more shimmery finish, a sticky base should be used. I think the shadow still performs great even with just a regular primer!

Olivia is a gorgeous metallic olive green with plenty of gold and green sparkles.

Full face. I felt the green shade craved for a bright red lipstick!

Essence Miss Universe and Femme Fatale Nightsong Grotto Nails

I broke two nails and decided I need a new shape to the nails to let them grow again. Kierra of Look What the Bats Dragged In has lovely short stiletto type nails and I decided to try a similar shape. I believe they are called baby stilettos, which fits perfectly! I tried to keep the length in some of my nails, so I'll see if the stiletto shape makes them break easy or something similar.

So yesterday I filed my nails in a new shape and put on some glittery polish to finish the look! There's a base of two coats of essence Miss Universe and one coat of Femme Fatale Nightsong Grotto. Simple and sparkly!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 04 Endless Purple

I have reviewed this product in another shade before, click here for the text! My boss was super nice and bought me two Cream Lip Stains while on a business trip to Stockholm. These are Sephora's own brand, so it's impossible to find them anywhere else. I had bought the product in a different shade when I was near a Sephora last time, I chose it on a whim and ended up really loving it!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 04 Endless Purple

Endless Purple is a warm medium purple with no shimmer. It has a satin finish, giving it a luxurious touch. I'm in love with the consistency of these stains, they are very light on your lips. I use long lasting lipsticks often but some feel like there's a thick film on your lips and are very drying. The Sephora cream stain is like an upgraded version of those! It goes on easy, feels light and does not crack when you wear it for a long time. It should work with any water based gloss on top, but the satin finish does not feel like it needs anything on top of it. It's not a matte product, but a lot more subtle than something with a glossy finish.

The shade is not a bright purple, it's more of a mauve, making it a very easy color to wear. For me this works for everyday looks, it dark but not overly so, and has some color without being too bright. I get 8+ hours of wear from this product. It transfers a tiny little bit, but doesn't budge unless there's oil or grease involved. You need an oil-based make-up remover to get it off, but in an emergency any oil will do (I used olive oil when I forgot to pack my remover!).

Church Ruin Shoot

Here's a few pictures from St. Michael's church in Pälkäne. One of the few places in Finland where people are so silly they have let the old church go to ruin ;P The ruin is in a nice condition nowadays, there's a new roof being built on top of one of the remaining rooms and the churchyard grass was neatly cut. When I was a child I used to go there and play, and back then it was in a worse state.

There were so many nice pictures that I had trouble choosing the best ones, so there's plenty!

I'm wearing the clock hand tiara I made a couple of years back and a new black feather collar. The necklace is by Lumissa's Purple Octopus. Dress is second hand, it's been hand made by someone. The corset is a black satin one by Burleska and the shoes are second hand. The eyeshadow is Deepmoss by Femme Fatale and the false lashes (that I had trouble applying, they wanted to point in all the wrong directions!) are Baby Dewdrop Lashes from Sugarpill.

This was a tricky spot to pose at, I kept scraping the top of the arch with the highest point of the tiara ;D

I had hoped to take some shots at an arched window, but the only one that's on the ground level was blocked with many layers of metal mesh that it didn't look nice. The ruin is so unstable that even if it wasn't forbidden to climb on it I wouldn't do it, you never know when I you get a rock on your head ;D

These are the stairs that I used to go up to an interior balcony. There's a gate
preventing anyone from climbing up. Back in my childhood you
could still freely go up.

This last set was taken at the fence surrounding the old churchyard. There has been a graveyard
around the church but the gravestones have been lost. Pälkäne does have a lovely old graveyard too,
right in the middle of the village, but sometimes it so grown out with weeds that it's hard to see the old
gravestones and crosses.

My hair was still curled from Lumous, I decided to get the most of it and have one last shoot before I was the curls out. After the shoot I went straight to the sauna and to swim in the lake. The best way to wash off the dust of a long festival!

Lumous Dark Market

Dark Market was such a nice event as always! I visited it only quickly, I was on a hurry to go to the tattoo parlour and then for a picnic on an island. The market didn't have as many people selling as some years, but plenty still :)
