Some Home Pictures

I've been having such a busy week! I have one last course to pass this semester and it has proven to be really cumbersome, tons of work for just a few credits. It's also been hectic at the office, and we are having a house warming party next Tuesday, so the preparations take time too.

I took a few pictures of our apartment since we've been trying to find all place for all the stuff and fixing a few last things, like taking off the bedroom double doors and putting up curtains instead. So yesterday was an Ikea day ;P I love Ikea, I had a tiny hotdog and found some gorgeous straws for the house warming party!

But on to the pictures!

First the bedroom curtains. I'm so happy with them! The fabric is thick and easy to iron,
and it doesn't seem to suck in cat hair. Victory! My other half chose the curtain rod, it's
gorgeous!

Deer horns and a mirror still waiting to be put on the wall.

Stuff to swatch on my desk.

Nana and Nivek napping on top of the aquarium. Nana immediately took the
white circle scarf as her own when I just casually put it on the aquarium hood for
a few minutes.

I got a venus flytrap from Ikea. I hope it survives, the kitties seem to think
it's delicious.

A new nailbrush from Tiger. It look cool on the sink.

The black sink is so pretty, but a real bitch to clean. Any tips?

Some stuff on the wall behind my work desk.

A watercolour piece by me and the horns and mirror.

Möttönen holding on to her foot while sleeping.

Möttönen yawning.

A collage of kitty pictures (and one template since I accidentally ordred too few
portrait prints ;P)

The living room wallpaper.

Thing I've got for the party!

I like Oscar Wilde.

The bedroom window sill.

What the curtain rod's end are like. Super pretty!

    1. Thank you! I'm so happy the curtains and chair match! The big frame is from Ikea, very ornamental and pretty :)

    1. Thank you! My nearest Ikea is a 20 minute bus ride away, but I sometimes go there just to look at things. It nice to be away from the city center sometimes. And eat the tiny hotdogs ;)

  5. Charming! I love sneak peeks into people's homes. I might have to steal the kitty collage idea. ;) The house plants are great - bringing the outdoors inside makes me happy.

I have yet to make a purchase from IKEA, but finally next year they are opening one in my city. I can't wait!

Good luck with your coursework - hang in there!

    1. Thanks! I've had bad luck with plants, I tend to over water them when I try to give them tender care. But now I've had a few for a few years so they must be used to my harsh love by now ;P And thanks for the luck with coursework, I try to keep in mind that this is the last one before a summer break and just soldier on.

    1. Thanks! I've been trying to no buy stuff, that's the only reason the pile of to-be-swatched is so small ;P But this month I'll pay my last bills and shop at Wave Gotik Treffen, so after that I can spend freely!

  7. I must say your home is wonderfully beautiful, it really illustrates your personality. Also removing the double doors is fantastic you must have gained so much space that way! I hope it stays nice with the cats. Our cat scratches up the couch so much it drives me insane!

Am with you on the uni course- we have had a lot to do for the last few weeks too, the amount of work done does not correlate well with the marking scheme. I had an essay/project log which was 50 percent of one module, then in another module i have 120 pages to hand in for 25 percent.

    1. Thank you so much! Our cats have luckily not been interested in scratching the sofa, I think it must be the fabric and the fact that the kitties have a scratching post that goes all the way to the ceiling (290 cm or something close) so they can have the scratching done there.

I still have around 5000 words to write for the course, but after that I'm so going to enjoy my summer vacation! Sadly, that's only from studies, but it's better than nothing ;)

  10. The house is beautiful! Lots of nice colours, lots of light. I love the curtain rod ends, and the tiled pictures on the wall! I have been planning to do that, I need frames. I have exactly what I want to do in mind. I love your kitties too!

    1. Thank you so much! The kitty collage is actually one frame, I bought it on Christmas just because it was so pretty. But I'm sure separate frames will work just as fine!

  11. Your place is beautiful! I've said it before, but I love how you combine all the colours - it's so vibrant! :o)

I was thinking of a black sink for our next kitchen because I thought it would be easier to keep clean than our current ivory coloured one. Perhaps that's not such a good idea?

    1. Thank you! I think in kitchen a black sink might work better. Ours is in the bathroom and it shows all toothpaste residue, soap and lime that the water leaves. When it's just cleaned, it's very pretty, but doesn't stay that way long.

  12. I think your home is beautiful and has lots of lovely furnitures and details. You have a very good taste. Even if you dont think it's goth styled, I think it has lots of gothic elements.

    1. I guess I was thinking about having everything black and covered in Victoria Frances posters would be goth ;P But maybe that mainly for younger people. Thanks!

    1. Thanks! And yes, it's from Ikea! I got only the frame since I thought I could paint something to put in it, but so far I've been too lazy. Last time I went to Ikea they were offering the same frame in white, it wasn't nearly as pretty.
