Wedding Things

As you might know, my other half and I got married early this year. We had a simple civil ceremony with no extra hassle. The plan has been to have a wedding party later, and that's one of the things that's been taking my energy lately. We have a venue and the invitations are almost done, my dress is nearly finished and there are ideas for the decoration and food.

I didn't think arranging a wedding is so much hard work! So many little things to take care of, I always seem to forget something. But I do have the most important things: a super awesome dress and a gorgeous ring, so everything else is just extra ;D

Second hand pompoms for decoration.

We are having a small ceremony at a ruined church (here's to hoping it wouldn't rain too much) and a party with lots of music and good food. I've been thinking of a suitable ceremony for the church part, but haven't come up with anything yet. The location has been used as a holy place from at least the iron age and church was just build on top, and neither my other half or me are Christians, so I was thinking of some sort of a pagan ceremony. Maybe handfasting or a unity sand type of thing. It's so hard to choose, as I don't identify with any particular religion, and there isn't that much information on what the original Finnish traditions have been. Any ideas or suggestions?

Invitations, designed by me. I love how they turned out! The wedding is in September, so candles, lights and darkness are
clear themes for the party ;)

Home Pictures, Summertime

The light was so pretty that I took some pictures of our home. It's so good to have all the furniture in place after weeks of kitchen renovating, finally things are where they should be! The cats also wanted to be in pictures, naturally.

The usual work space. I have a desktop computer too, but have been more fond of the laptop lately. Möttönen loves to lounge in the sun on the table.

The kitties have a basket and some grass on the window sill. The lights are on
at night, I like the effect of having little yellow bulbs on the window.

The bedroom. I went a little crazy and bought the yellow pillow cases from H&M.
I've never had anything yellow in the apartment before, but this shade was calling to me.

My vanity. I recently added a shelf on top of the mirror mostly for hair products and it makes keeping the table free so much easier! Also a good place to store Monster High dolls ;D

View from the living room into the bedroom.

And a little bit of the new kitchen! It's so tiny it's hard to take good pictures, but you get the idea. Black, white and dark wood. And there's a window now! It used to be covered by a huge fridge.

This is one of my favourite things in the kitchen, a black, shiny refrigerator! It's quite small, but should be
enough for us. If not, the space is large enough for a regular sized one.

Möttönen posing by the window.

Magnus on the table (yes, the cats are allowed on this table).

Möttönen once again. I love the wide stone window sills and I think the cats share my feelings ;D

Girl on Film

Aside from my love for Duran Duran, the headline refers to me working with traditional film. I've developed pictures and used a film camera when I was young, but have never done any modeling for film. It's at once demanding and oddly forgiving, as many films can be developed to have quite high contrast and lovely shades. Where shooting digitally is more like firing as many rounds as it takes and hoping for the best, shooting on film is more about careful positioning and taking that one good shot. I do like both, but film was an interesting experience!

I worked with Saša Mustonen Photography and can highly recommend them! Beautiful work and top notch equipment, plus a nice and relaxed athmosphere. And look at that beautiful background! No photoshop, but an actual painted canvas!

These two were taken with another camera, but look at this one! Gorgeous! You can see the background used for the above photos on the wall.

Outfit of the Day

Yes I know the shoes are ridiculous ;D I needed to drive and I need flat shoes to feel the pedals, so these came in handy! I just bough these Black Milk Mecha leggings second hand and they fit me like a glove. It's been very warm, so simple, light clothes like leggings are very useful. I was on my way to pop to a friend's b-day party, just to get out a bit and train my driving skills. I have to say it's weird going to a party and not having anything alcoholic to drink, but I'm sure I'll get used to it! It's good practise to drive on the mostly empty streets, as I can take in all the markings and go as slowly as I need to. I'm hoping to be a good driver soon!

Jacket - Juunappa
Top - H&M
Leggings - Black Milk Mecha Leggings
Shoes - Lidl

One more showing my ponytail! My hair is quite faded, but still has a nice
ombre effect. The earrings I bought from the gothic flea market event, they
are by A for Arsenic. I changed the hooks to studs so they don't feel too heavy,
and now they are one of my favourite pairs :)

Boxes and Onions and Cars

I got my driver's license, yay! It's been a pain to do all the driving lessons during days when I should be working, but now it's finally done with. Today I drove about 200 kilometers and did well, just more practise with my own car and I'll be good driver one day :)

The kitchen is tiny. But there are new cupboards!

Aside from that, I've been living in a maze of cardboard boxes for a few weeks now. We are renovating our kitchen and it's taking forever. First the renovation company had forgotten that the room needed to be painted, then an old sewer pipe was found behind the old cupboards, then the water doesn't shut down properly and so on. If everything goes like planned, the kitchen will be done next week, so fingers crossed! Over three weeks of having everything from the kitchen packed away is enough. The new kitchen furniture has been sitting in the living room, blocking a part of the TV, making watching Game of Thrones and the new season of Outlander tricky ;D But soon I can cook with something else than the microwave oven!

The rest of the kitchen waiting to be set up.
It's a little over a month until my summer vacation starts. I'm looking forward to doing lots of photoshoots, as my other half's ankle was operated on again and should be getting better. He usually takes pictures for me, and it's been tricky now that he can't move around easily.

Cats are enjoying summer.
The kitties love having the renovation workers in the apartment, more people to pet them! I thought we might have problems with the cats participating too eagerly, but everything has been going smoothly.

Muh onions. Let me shiw you them.

Last but not the least, I might have onions some day! The sprouts are still tiny but they will grow!
