Tracon 2013

This weekend Tracon was once again happening in Tampere Hall. I had promised to help out at the Finnish roleplaying games sales table, otherwise I might have been tempted to skip the event since I was so tired after two days in Stockholm!

I wanted to wear fancy make-up because I've been a bit lazy with my looks lately, and it's a shame to let pretty colours just sit it the vanity.

Sugarpill Afterparty on inner lids, Sugarpill Poison Plum on outer halfs!

I paired the bright shadow with a bright pink shade on Lips2Last liquid lipstick.

At Tracon. My problem with anime conventions is that for some weird reason people like to stand in the middle of hallways and block passage. The event was sold out before twelve, so it might be just the volume of visitors, but it's been the same at other anime themed cons I've been to. Never in game conventions or roleplaying conventions, thought.

Anniina and me! Just look at her pretty outfit!

I did a pretty short shift yesterday and went back home to eat. One of my geckos is not feeling too well and needs to be hand fed, so I opted to stay home for the evening and enjoy a nap to get over the tiredness from the trip. The gecko seems to be doing better today, I hope she will recover. Today I've already helped with the roleplaying table, the event seemed to go very well!

Sephora Haul

I did indeed have time to stop quickly by a Sephora in Stockholm! It was my first time there (in the shop, not in the city) and it was great to be able to see and try products that are not available in Finland.

This is what I got! The products have a red glare from the curtain on the window I was taking the photos
on, sorry! Top row from left to right: Sephora hand cream in Peony, Benefit Porefessional primer,
Sephora primer, and the ones at the bottom are a limited edition Sephora lip gloss and a Sephora matte
liquid lipstick.
Sephora primer. The inci says it's basically just silicone, but it might work
well wit my skin.

Benefit the Porefessional. This primer promises to minimize
the appearance of pores and create a smooth surface for the
foundation. It has lots of silicone in it, and feels much like any
smoothing silicone primer, slick and smooth. I'm wearing it right
now to test if it helps out with my oily skin!

Sephora Moisturizing Hand Cream in Peony. This one I picked just because I was
disappointed since I couldn't buy any body care products. All the sizes were too big because I
only had a hand luggage and you can't bring anything bigger than 100 ml on the plane.
I really like the smell of this lotion! It doesn't seem very moisturising, but it's absorbed fast
and the smell is divine.

Sephora Long Lasting Vinyl Lip Laquer gloss in Provocative Black. I just totally needed this since I had never seen a black gloss that's so opaque ;P

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 07 Dark Berry. I like stains, so I wanted to give this one a go. I haven't worn it on my lips yet,
but the texture is very interesting, sort of a satin finish with a rubbery, slightly moist feel. The colour is a warm, dark red with some cooler red shimmer.
Here's just a quick peek, so far I haven't tried all the products (well, I only bought them yesterday!) but I'll write more detailed reviews after I've gotten familiar with them :)

For anyone visiting Stockholm and looking for a Sephora, it's on Biblioteksgatan. It's easy to find by going to Sergels torg (you can get off the metro at T-Centralen and follow the signs) and following Hamngatan until you come to Norrmalmstorg square. Just walk through the square to the north edge and Biblioteksgatan is the pedestrian street that leads off the square. The Sephora can be seen from the end of the street. There's also an Urban Outfitters store on Biblioteksgatan for us poor Finns who don't have it at home ;D

Stockholm!

Today I'm in Stockholm for a business trip. Just look at the gorgeous view from the office! And wish me luck so I'll have time to visit a Sephora to get fancy make-up ;P

Make-Up Store Look

It's been quite stressful at work lately, so today when things looked like they are proceeding smoothly, I took an extra long lunch break and (in addition to raiding the sushi buffet with a friend) stopped by the Kicks shop at Koskikeskus. Today they had a make-up artist promoting Make-Up Store products and doing quick looks, so I asked her to do my eyes. I told her that I love turquoise and anything using green or blue would be good, since I don't really know how to wear those colours myself. Here's the result!

I love the shades she chose, and even if I was a bit hesitant of the lip colour, it really does work with my colouring and the eyes. The artist used a marble eyeshadow called Giallo Damasco (which I for the life of me cannot locate on their site, sorry!). It was a pressed shadow with shades of green and turquoise. Everything except the liner on my lower lashline and the colour wash on top of the lid going all the way to my brows is from that one pressed shadow! I think she did a perfect job with the flicks on the outer edges of my eyes, I always paint them too low myself and end up looking tired. She also showed me a few nifty tricks on how to reproduce the effect by using a pencil as a guide or a piece of paper.

Uh oh, my brows look super worn here! I took the pictures after I got home, that's why the shadow has creased and the brows are so faded. My lids are very oily, and the Make-up Store primer clearly did not work on me, but that's okay, very few do and now I know this is not one of the ones I should go for.

The gradient effect on the lower lid looks so cool! The blue based turquoise is a soft liner pencil, it's sealed with eyeshadow that then blended a bit lower than the pencil.

Lips. They are done with just a lip liner called Sweet Pumpkin and a lipstick sealer on top. I asked the artist if they had lip stains or anything similar, and she showed me the sealer which makes lipstick last longer. I ended up buying the sealer, since I have lots of lipsticks I'd like to use, but I hate how often you have to reapply them. I hope it works well, at least looks like it kept the lip liner on for more than four hours!
You can find the schedules of when make-up artists visit stores here, go and have a look done, it sure was worth it!

Outfit of the Day

Today's outfit! I've only been working, and out for a sushi lunch. My other half was working from home so we got to go for lunch together, it was lovely! The buffet of Watami is perfect for us, it has both chinese food and sushi, so I get to eat piles of salmon nigiris and my other half can enjoy the spicy pork.

I was DJ'ing at a fetish event on Saturday, and there was a latex workshop before it, so I've sure been busy! There was an opportunity to have portraits taken by a professional photographer, I hope mine came out nice and will arrive to my email soon so I can share them and show the cute late skirt I made!
