Everyday Smoky
Today I whipped up a smoky eye for work, just for fun! I used a metallic dark plum purple called Volta by Lost in Makeup Land. It works well with my light green eyes. Along with Volta there's only a touch of matte white (Sugarpill Tako) at the inner corners and some white eyeliner with which I tried to paint a little V in the inner corners but failed miserably. Better luck next time! And I'll use a better brush too ;P

Fyrinnae Liquid Matte Lipsticks Review
When I heard Fyrinnae had a new line of liquid matte lipsticks, I just couldn't wait to get my hand on them! The first batch sold out quickly but I got to order once the second one appeared. I got Desire, Delicious, Naughty & Nice and Sinister. Here's my thoughts on them.
Desire is a dark, blue-toned purple. It's great for dramatic looks, as it truly is quite dark! To get good coverage you need to layers, and applying is a bit tricky because the second layer melts the first one. For best results I recommend padding the second layer on. This shade also stains quite a alot, your lips will be pink the next day!
Naughty & Nice is a very easy to use red. It's warm and looks like it would suit many skin tones. Goes on perfectly with just one layer, and applying a second one is easy too, just in case you missed a spot. Naughty & Nice isn't totally matte, it has a satin finish, which I like very much.
Delicious is also purple, but lighter than Desire. It's quite bright, but not very light. Applies well with one layer and does not have problems with the first layer melting away if you re apply.

Sinister was a bit of a scary shade for me! I rarely wear blue, but when the description said the lipstick has a similar effect to Fyrinnae's Digital Faerie eyeshadow I just had to get it. On my lips the green sheen doesn't really show, but the shade of blue works surprisingly well with my skin tone. Sinister is a medium blue, and thanks to the metallic effect, it's more of a satin finish than matte.
I have to say I love the formula of all of the lipsticks. They are liquid in the tube and applied with a doe-foot applicator. Thanks to the liquid formula they go on very thin and you don't feel them on your lips. I have many matte liquid lipsticks, but they usually are more of a cream than liquid despite the name and feel a bit heavy on the lips. The cream ones can also crumble if you apply too thick layers. I have not had that problem with the Fyrinnae ones at all. They also stay on extremely well. On my lips 6+ hours without reapplying, and more with a touch up. The lipstick dries fully, so you don't leave lip marks on glasses, partners or where ever your lips touch ;D
Pros
+ Gorgeous and very usable shades (for dramatic looks)
+ Excellent formula, the best I've ever tried for liquid mattes
+ Doesn't smudge, feather or fade
+ Stays on for 6+ hours
Cons
- I'd love a dark teal shade (but there's already a teaser of a matte black or dark grey, so maybe more colours are coming!)

Photoshoot Workshop Results
I got the first finished picture from the photoshoot workshop I attended a while back! The workshop took place at a nighclub, so there were coloured lights and a smoke machine to be used. There were two themes for the event: old-time glamour and a party look. This one is my glamour look, naturally ;P I'm wearing the dress my other half got me for Christmas, a vintage fox stole and a little hat I believe I got from H&M ages ago.
The light is really stunning and I love how Olli edited my tattoos to be really bright! This one was taken on the dance floor of the nightclub, but you can't really tell because of all the smoke. A fun shoot, great location and it's so lovely to meet new people!

Pink and Orange Look
I did this look for taking pictures with the Queen of Darkness lace top and a China brocade corset. I chose shades that went with the corset and drew inspiration also from Dominiqueldr's look on Instagram. I usually never wear orange, but took the plunge and it worked very well for this look!
I also tried using full scale false lashes for bottoms lashes. They looked good in pictures but were quite uncomfortable to wear ;D
Here's what I used for the eyes and lips:
Sugarpill Chromalust loose shadow in Smitten (metallic pink)
Sugarpill pressed eyeshadow in Flamepoint (matte orange)
Sugarpill pressed eyeshadow in Buttercupcake (matte yellow)
Fyrinnae pigment in Rapunzel Had Extensions (peach with a golden sheen)
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
False lashes by Red Cherry and Sugarpill
IsaDora Lip Chock in Vintage Wine

Scale Mail Project
I like projects. I enjoy working on things to get results, and crafts are just fun! My current favourite is the scale mail corset I came up with. It's inspired by Bibian Blue's gorgeous scale mail creation I saw at WGT.
What kind of projects are you working on? I'm so excited about this one that I'll be sure to post updates when I get to attaching the armor to the corset. I have a few ideas on how to do it, but I have to try things out first. I might need something to cover the top attachment, like in the Bibian Blue version, because I think they put that plume there for a reason I will find out once I'm getting to the attaching part ;D
Mine will be a black velvet corset with a scale mail front. I bought a cheap second hand corset that might need some modifying, the busk is a bit flimsy. I ordered a bunch of small scales and metal rings from Queen Ring in the Netherlands and set to work with the help of youtube tutorials and my trusty jewellery work pliers.
I've done ring mail waaayy back, but scale mail takes more time because the rings used are so small and there's the extra mental challenge of getting the scales the go in the right way. I'm now about 1/3rd done and it has taken about two work days.
Scale cells, I found making these first and connecting them was the best way for me to work.
I do enjoy making the armor, it's relaxing in a way and the result looks like it's going to be awesome! I made a template that's roughly the size of the front panels of the corset, but I think I might need to make the scale mail part a bit wider on the top to get a good hourglass shape.
The backside of the armor.
If I ever work with scale mail again, I might go for the large scales just to make the work go faster. The small ones are pretty, but I'm a bit impatient ;P
I have a paper template that's cut in the shape of my corset's front pieces.

Smoky with a Touch of Blue Look
I did this look for the 80's party last Saturday. My plan was to do a smoky look but with a touch of colour. My choice for the colour part was Femme Fatale eyeshadow in Dreamstate. It's a dark blue with a green sheen. With the matte black I used for the smoky part Dreamstate looks quite a bit darker than usual, but the green comes out very nicely. The lashes are by Sugarpill, a pair called Stormy.
My brows are done with Inglot gel liner and on the lips is Fyrinnae matte lipstick in Delicious, a medium purple, with just a hint of the same product in Desire, a darker purple, on the outer edges to give an impression of fuller lips.

I really like how the smoky eye turned out and the touch of colour seems to work well. Next time I'll experiment with something brighter to see how I can blend the colours! I'm also very fond of my new contouring shade, Beaver eyeshadow by Make-Up Store. I saw Rose Shock recommend it and hunted high and low for the shade. Seems that the Finnish sellers no longer carried it, but luckily I went on a trip to Sweden and the airport tax free shop had plenty of Beaver ;P
My jaw line is not very defined, but a little touch of Beaver helps a lot and it works well with my complexion. Most contouring products are too warm for my pale Scandinavian skin, but Beaver is a totally matte grey-brown that blends in perfectly. I also own Taupe by Nyx, but Beaver is by far superior. Taupe has too little pigment for my taste.
Any suggestions on what shade I should try next with the smoky look? I have over 200 eyeshadows so I'm pretty sure I can manage almost any shade suggested ;D
