Pole Dancing Pictures

On Thursday my friends Niina and Jukka were heading to the pole dancing studio to take some pictures just for fun. They asked me to tag along and naturally I went! I hadn't been to the studio before while they free practice, where you basically can just rent a pole and practice by yourself. At home my pole is in such a tight spot that it's hard to do spins without kicking something, so I haven't been able to practise as much as I'd want to. I was a bit doubtful of how the pictures of me would turn out, since I had just done a tough practice the day before and I think every muscle in my body ached. But I'm glad I tried, there were nice pictures and I got to train :)

Here are the best shots, thanks again Jukka!

I'm super concentrated when trying to find a pose.

This was called a plank. Maybe one day I can take my hands off the pole in this one ;D
I've been stretching a lot, since it's so easy to do at home while watching the telly.

Spinning!
A figurehead pose.
The reflection is nice in this one :)
I think I really need to get a cropped top, now this is my only one and I just roll it up for moves where you need to have grip with the sides, back or belly. I'm so happy that I found this hobby, I'm not very sporty and my background in dancing is limited to drunken disco dance, but I feel like I'm progressing fast. I'm always eager to see and feel changes and get frustrated easily if I have to keep doing something without knowing what I'm doing wrong, but with pole dancing I feel like I'm always a tiny bit better each time. And I can actually see muscles in my arms now!

  3. Looking good! I am still contemplating taking some pole lessons. Looks like such a great workout. And that stretching move where you can actually touch your toes with your head on your knees...I haven't been able to do that since...never? Yikes! So these are pretty inspiring. I have never really been graceful, so this might actually help. I was a softball player for a long time.

    1. Thank you! At the studio I go to, they have different skill levels and the beginner lessons are very easy, and you don't have to master the moves right away. I really like how an exercise the dancing is, especially when the exercising happens without actually having to concentrate on it. I've always been pretty flexible, but I don't think it's a must to do okay in pole dancing, but it does help with some moves!

    1. Thank you! I'm always proud when I remember to keep my toes pointed ;D I haven't had any dance lessons before this pole dancing hobby, but I did do gymnastics for maybe a year or two when I was a child. I remember pointy toes were part of that!

  6. It is great you found something to do that you enjoy. Dancing is the only sporty thing I enjoy too! I was dancing at a dinner club to 20s music (just making it up, I only know a few steps, and I am far from fantastic at it, but it was super fun.) of course, I woke up with a painful leg cramp this morniing!

  7. Oh I loved your poses! They are so graceful and sexy! :P Also your hair looks absolutely gorgeous! Yet this whole pole craze is rather new to me, I can't understand why people are so much into it! You're also the 2nd finnish blogger that I read who practices pole as a hobby XD Good luck getting better!

    1. Thank you! I think at least in Finland pole dancing is in fashion. There are many dance studios, so it's easy to practice. For me the best part is that while it's very good exercise, it's still creative and very variable, unlike aerobic exercises or going to the gym. Pole dancing feels like play and the exercise comes with it naturally :)
