Samhain Party!

Yesterday was the Bella Morte + Underworld Samhain party, and it was great! Many people came despite the rain in the early evening and there were so many wonderful costumes! And I didn't even manage to empty the dancefloor with my sets ;) I wore the 80's wedding dress I bought in the summer. I was supposed to put some fake blood on it earlier, but ended up doing it the very last minute and being sticky with corn syrup blood for hours ;D

The dress worked great, the sequins and little beads caught the light on the dance floor and it was fairly comfy, except for being a bit too hot. I'm also quite pleased with the cut neck I did, I've never done any fake wounds before and had problems getting the wet toilet paper to stick to my skin even with glue. In the end it lasted fine, the sticky blood glued all the layers together. And some of my hair too, I found out when trying to wash all the blood off in the early morning hours ;P

I also wanted my nails to match but didn't have time to actually put polish on them, so I just smudged some crimson and brown acrylic paint on my hands and nails for a gruesome look that won't leave sticky fingerprints everywhere.

My other half actually wore a suit and a bloody shirt to match, but he came in very late because he had a birthday party to attend to, so I'm not sure if there's any pictures of us together. I hope there would be, because he looked great!

Thanks to Siiri for the pictures!

And a creepy one from back stage ;D
Now I'll get back to scrubbing the bathroom, I thought I was careful when putting on the fake blood but it seems to have gotten everywhere! A big thanks to everyone who came to the party and especially to all the lovely people who helped to run the show :)

  1. That costume is great!! The dress is very 80's and yet quite unusual because wasn't it often wide skirts?

    1. Thanks! I also think of wide hems with 80's dresses, but with the huge shoulder pads I can't place it in any other time. The original owner was also a bit heavier on top, I could have fit two sets of boobs in the dress before taking it in, so it's an unusual choice to have huge shoulders when you are top-heavy even without them.

  2. Upea kokonaisuus! Oli itelläkin harkinnassa tulla bileisiin, mutta b-luokan kauhu kotisohvalla vei voiton tällä erää :P

  5. With your awesome new hair colour this Halloween look kinda resembles the Corpse Bride! If she were dead and kicking in the 80's that is! You look absolutely amazing, I'm sure your costume was one of the best that night!
