Independence Day Look

On the Finnish independence day my other half and I headed to the office I work at. My colleagues came up with the idea to have a party there, because it was right next to the Tampere hall where the annual president's ball was held this year.

We had delicious things to eat and some genuine champagne. We didn't see the riots, which were pretty unusual this year, but we did see almost all of the mounted police in Finland. I believe there are six of them in the whole country and we saw five ;P

For the look I used Sugarpill Asteria in the crease (medium orange with golden sheen), Evil Shades Sweet Alice (baby pink, pastel) on the lid, then when I noticed the pink didn't really compliment the orange, I added Fyrinnae Rapunzel Had Extensions (peach with golden sheen) on top of the Sweet Alice. On my lips is a Manhattan Lips2Last long lasting lipstick in bright red.

  1. I love the eyes! I cannot find a good lipstick that lasts or makes my teeth yellow. I tend to use a tinted lip balm then use lip safe red shadow. That way the color lasts all day. (Usually 8 hours without a touch up.)

    1. Thank you! I think I need to try eyeshadow, I've only used shimmery shadows as highlights on lips. I like long lasting lipsticks (the ones that really perform), these pictures were taken after wearing the lip colour for something like five hours while eating things and drinking.

  2. I absolutely love your eyeshadows! I have been trying to do something similar for aaaaaages..but I always look like I was crying a lot and having flu at the same moment, I simply can't get it right (therefore, so much envy, you look like a doll!!) :(
Might give it another try tomorrow though :D

    1. Thanks! I think the trick is the shade of the orange, if it's very red, then it looks like crying ;P More yellowish oranges and ones with the gold shift making them more yellow work better. I hope yours will come out nice!

  3. I love that eyeshadow, I'd love to try something similar to that or in a browny silent movie type style. I am so hopeless at eyeshadow, I made a mess again last time I tried, thinking maybe using paler colours would help as it would go on more lightly, and look less messy.

    1. Light colours are easier to work with! Also decent brushes help a lot, it's hard to apply shadow precisely with a brush that's too thick, or get an even colour wash on an area with a really small brush. I think matte shades would be the way to go for silent movie looks :)
