Dolls and Crafts

Yesterday I had a few friends over and we did crafts. There's nothing better than hot tea, cookies and good friends! I had many small projects, like checking what colour of hair I should use for my custom Skelita Monster High doll, drawing a few sketches, finishing pieces of jewellery and glueing doll eyelashes in place.

Skelita and her soon-to-be hair. And my cute bone tiara that needed some hot glue.

I'm loving these colours! The necklace with the rhinestones had been waiting for ages for me to just to replace a few stones that had fallen off. It's one my favourites but for a long time I always forgot to fix it.

Deer skull drawing.
Here's Bella! She's a Soom Glot resin doll. I recently sold my other resin dolls since they were just collecting dust in the closet, but I couldn't part with Bella, she's too precious! I fixed her eyelashes, they had gone wonky when I had carelessly packed her in a box without anything to protect her face. She also needs new strings, the current ones have some how lost elasticity and she constantly wants to nod and curl into a fetal position ;D Might also paint her horns some day.

Bella.

Bella has the cutest pout and I just love her clothes. I have a pink frilly dress for her also, but the shade doesn't match the dusty pink of her cape so I've been planning to sew a new dress that would go better with this outfit. She came with a cape, a tiny corset top and bloomers. Dolly shoes have always been hard for me to find in the styles that I like, so it's a good thing Bella has hooves so I don't need to worry about footwear.

You can see her tiny hooves here. She's too floppy to stand on her own at the moment.

Yes, I'm soon thirty years old and I still play with dolls ;D But she's so cute!

  1. Wow, I love the bone tiara! And the Skeleta is so cool! How often do you see a doll where they put that much effort into the body?

I like your little Bella. Usually those dolls scare me a little with their oddly alive looking faces, but she is eerily lovely so I don't mind. I love her moonstone shiny eyes and horns!

    1. I hope to do a better post with the tiara soon! It had broken in transit, but me and my handy hot glue gun made it all better ;P I actually have two Skelitas because she's just so gorgeous, one sits on my desk at the office and the other one will be customized into something regal! She totally needs a hi-lo dress to go with those bony legs.

I really like Bella, thanks! I might get her new eyes though, she seems so vacant with these ones. Or maybe it's the nodding, her eyes want to hide under her bangs.

    1. I didn't really have dolls when I was a child, I played with other toys, so maybe I'm just patching that ;D

  3. Darling, never stop playing with or having an interest in dolls/toys regardless of your age! I'm almost 42 and have a huge collection of dolls, toys, and stuffed animals that I will never part with and always add to. I don't know why folks think that adults need to act a certain way or have certain interests. I'm constantly hearing "adults" say that it's time to grow up ... which means that it's time to put away the things you love? I don't get it. It's especially disconcerting when goths say it because I want to remind them to look in the mirror. If you are part of this subculture, which promotes being an individual, why should you think and act like "regular" adults? Words like mature, adult, etc. make me NUTS. You keep loving your dollies.

    1. What a lovely comment, thanks! As long as I pay my own bills, no one can tell me what to do with my free time and money ;D

    1. Thank you! She's my little demon baby. Probably a lot easier to dress than a real child ;D

  6. Onks toi luu-tiara siis ihan ihmis-asuste? Ja mikäli näin on niin mistähän moisen oot löytänyt, jos siis haluat paljastaa :D Oon ite metsästänyt kivaa tiaraa jo pidemmän aikaa, mut kaikki bongaamani ovat olleet vähän turhan glitterprinsessa -henkisiä omaan makuun.

    1. Joo, se on ihmisille! Löytyy eBaylta hakusanoilla Too Fast tiara, niitä saa valkoisena ja mustana.
