WGT Monday

Last day of the festival! Today, on Tuesday we're going home, taking the train to Berlin, then flying to Stockholm and from there to Tampere. I'm tired but happy, last five days have been so wonderful! Here's some pictures from yesterday, I'll write more after I've gotten a good night's sleep in my own bed at home.

Red light

A pretty pond in the middle of the city.
I wrote this post on Tuesday, but the hotel internet connection was cut just as I was sending it. So here it is, a bit late but better late than never :)

Finally Home!

We arrived today just after midnight, what an awesome holiday! It was nice to sleep in my own bed again, with all the kitties.

Here are the last pictures I took abroad!

Last day in Leipzig, taken at the hotel. I forgot to take a pic of the bed, it was huge!
Probably as wide as our whole bedroom at home ;P

I always forgot to ask friends to take pictures of me and my other half together, but here's one :)

Red parasols make sunlight so pretty!

The last delicious Apfelschorle. I'll have
to mix them myself at home.

Flying somewhere over Denmark (I think).

My other half's chipped nail polish, shows how a five-day-festival wears you down ;P

I did a lot of shopping, but I think I won't have time to do another post before I come back from St. Petersburg. We are leaving on Friday and return on the fifth. And tomorrow I'll get my tattoo finished, don't know how many hours this session will be, last one was four!

I think I'll try and do one post more about WGT later on, to sum it all up and post some pictures I have stashed away :)

WGT Sunday

We woke up late and decided to go out and eat right away. Had delicious mushroom pasta and milkshakes and headed off to the Egyptian Museum afterwards. It was open on one day for free to WGT visitors. Stayed there until closing time (I love Egypt and could spend ages in almost any museum) and then went off to listen to The House of Usher. They didn't play that well, but it was still nice. I continued to Volkspalast for Luftwaffe and Of The Wand And The Moon, the venue was gorgeous! A round hall with a high dome, excellent acoustics and I loved the DDR look of the place, all concrete.

Strawberry-vanilla and chocolate-banana milkshakes!
Met with my other half at Moritzbastei (see a pattern here? ;)) and we continued the evening in the cellars where a friend of ours was DJ'ing. I guess I'm a bit boring because I'm thrilled to hear Finnish goth classics even when partying in Germany ;P Met friends, listened to lots of good music and drank excellent cola-bier, what more can a lady ask for?

Here's some pictures from the day. There's a ban on cameras at the concert venues (on big cameras, but apparently my five-year-old snapshot camera is too big) so I have pictures from daytime only.

Bought a nice shredded shirt to wear over my dress! Also the flower hair clips are new.

My other half was wearing a tie clip I got for him last year.

Me outside Moritzbastei

And a pic of my evening look! Sweaty pvc is an essential part of any goth festival ;P

Satur Day & Night WGT

Saturday was awesome, ate Indian food, did some shopping and listened to excellent bands! I bought a new corset and wore it in the evening, it was very comfy and looked good. And Urban Decay Primer Potion proved its worth again by keeping my eyeshadow creaseless for over twelve hours, including a very sweaty Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio gig.

Now for some pictures!

My other half at the Indian restaurant.

Me at the same place. Many old ladies wanted to take pictures of us ;P

My nails, I'm wearing a sticker on the ring finger. Also some
delicious pils in the pic ;)

Took a break from the shopping and had milkshakes,
mine was kiwi-banana and his was strawberry.
I didn't get any pictures of my evening look, because I only had half an hour to get ready and then rushed to see the bands. Saw Ordo Equituum Solis, Ordo Rosarius Equilbrio and Hekate. ORE was brilliant, as was Hekate! Hekate started an hour or so late and played an extra half hour, so I was a bit tired afterwards and only stopped to eat and find my other half at Moritzbastei and headed off to the hotel to get some sleep. Tonight I'm planning on actually partying at Moritzbastei ;D

Felsenkeller

Last night we went to see Ahráyeph, Rhombus, Press Gang Metropol, The Eden House and Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. There were naturally other bands playing also, but we chose to stay in one location because four of the five bands were interesting and the last one turned out to be nice also. So, it was Felsenkeller for the whole night, and off to Moritzbastei for a midnight snack afterwards. Their spinach lasagna is to die for, we had that for lunch, but the chili con carne I tried last night was also delicious! Saw lots of friends too, amazing how Finnish people manage find each other in a huge festival area ;P

The hotel lobby had a cute chair! My outfit is from yesterday.

My other half was wearing his cool sunglasses.

This is from yesterday, I had my cheap but purple H&M sunglasses ;)

And my look for today, fuzzy curls and Livor Mortis eyeshadow that makes my
eyes look super pale!

Now I'm off to do some shopping in the city centre (already went to Claire's and DM yesterday, but I want more of the lovely nails stickers I found!) and then head out to Agra to do some more shopping ;) Can't wait for the Agra marketplace, it's a goth heaven!

Moritzbastei and Sixtina Absintherie

Had a taste of a friend's milkshake on Moritzbastei, it was delicious!

Sixtina Absintherie had a cool old hearse parked in front the place.

WGT Starting

I'm heading out! Here's a quick snapshot of my hair and makeup today. My new tattoo can also be seen, it's making me crazy by itching ;P

In Leipzig!

What a long day this has been! We started off at five o'clock in the morning and arrived to Leipzig after noon (after traveling through Stockholm and Berlin). It's quite hot, but since beer is so cheap, no one has to go thirsty ;P

Wave Gotik Treffen has begun and the city is overrun by goths :) The real action starts tomorrow.

On the way from Berlin airport to the railway station.

The hotel has cute orange coat hangers!

And some pretty wallpaper.

And a cute checkered chair!

Weissbier = sehr Gut

My other half's sunglasses.

A snapshot of me trying to show how nice my hair
looks against my dress ;P

See?
I got pink extension streaks added to my hair on Wednesday and painted my nails too with a lovely purple. I'm so happy to be in Leipzig, the city is wonderful and there will a ton of good bands playing the next few days. Now I'm off to take a long warm bath to revive my poor legs, they are already sore from walking around!

Numbers and Plans!

I just wanted to tell you guys how happy I am that the blog now has over 200 followers! Thank you all so much for reading my scribbles and looking at my cat pictures ;P

I've also passed the one hundred posts mark, yay!

I have plans to do another giveaway to celebrate new readers, but I thought I could see if I can find some nice stuff to give away on my trip to Germany. I'm leaving on the 24th and I'm already super excited!

Since my other half needs the laptop even on holidays, I'll have the option to update directly from Wave Gotik Treffen next weekend! I'm hoping if I just have enough time, I'll be able to post some nice pictures :)

Would you like to have updates from WGT? Have you got any other ideas for future posts? So far I only have plans for a lipstain post of all the stains I've hoarded and a post about my piercings.

And old picture of Nana and I. Photo by Visual Reality.

Black Smoky Eye

This is a look from last week, I wanted to try a really dark look and I think it worked nicely. I was first thinking that I'd put black all around the eye, but thought it made my eyes look too close to each other, so I added some white in the inner corners. It turned out a bit blue-grey because it's on top of the black.

I used:
Sugarpill Tako
Sugarpill Bulletproof

Full face, can't remember what's the lipstain I'm wearing.

And here's a few bonus pics! Möttönen didn't listen to me when I explained to her that it's a mouse pad, not a cat pad ;)

And here's a peek at my new tattoo! It's still healing since it's only four days old, and it's missing some colour and the background. I'm very happy with it and will post pictures when it's fully healed :) It will be finished next week.

Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream Review

I wanted to try a BB-cream and felt like my then current foundation was too dark for me, so off to eBay I went. I chose this store and ordered a travel size tube (20ml) of Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream in no. 13, the lightest shade Missha offers. The package arrived in about a week.

The tube was packed in a silver coloured box and looked very neat. I've now been using the BB-cream for over a month an apparently didn't take pictures of the package.
20ml tube

I had previously been using MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NW15, which is the lightest warm shade MAC has. I bought it in the middle of winter, so it might have been matched to my skin when there was still some tan left from the summer, but now it's just too dark.

MAC Studio Sculpt NW15 and Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream no. 13

The pic didn't come out so good, but here are the foundations blended in.
On top in the MAC foundation, that clearly looks orangey on my skin.
The bottom one that's almost invisible is the BB-cream.

The BB-cream offers lighter coverage than Studio Sculpt, but still hides small imperfections and evens out the skintone nicely. I use a kabuki brush to put it on and feel like the BB-cream doesn't sink into the brush like the foundation tends to do. I use transparent powder on the BB-cream to set it. The cream lasts the whole day on my face. I use primer on my oily t-zone, but otherwise it's just BB-cream and powder.

Studio Sculpt stated it has SPF 15 sunprotection, where as the BB-cream boasts SPF 42. I burn easily, so I like wear high sun protection. Some sunscreens show up on camera like white film on the skin, but both these foundations work fine in pictures.

My skin has been in a really great condition lately, but I'm not sure if it's because of the BB-cream or my new cleanser or the night cream I use for summer. I suspect the BB-cream plays a part but can't be sure.

The tube has no ingredients list but claims the cream heals blemishes and wrinkles, prevents aging and whitens skin. As far as I know, it has no actual whitening ingedients and the tube kind of suggests that it gives a whitening effect by healing the skin. I have experienced no whitening (and don't want to, I'm pale enough!).

Pros
-Feels light on skin
-Gives light, natural coverage and evens out skintone
-The shade is very light
-High sun protection

Cons
-If you need heavier coverage, this product is not for you

Got My Hair Done!

I went to the hairdressers to get my locks into order for the upcoming trip to WGT and also because it's been something like a year since my last visit. I went to Salon Scissor Sister, and Elina mixed a wonderful purple for me! And cut my bangs so nice, I was already a bit fed up with the old bangs but these are just awesome!

All of the black didn't come of from the bangs, resulting in a lovely dip-dye effect.

The colour in the pic is too blue (on my screen), it's really a purple with black streaks.

Elina also cut cool patterns into my undercut!

I really love the bangs, now I have plenty of room to draw eyebrows and I think the shape looks good with with my face shape. Elina didn't have the right pink shade extension hair on hand, so I'll be stopping by again next week to get some lighter streaks put in.

I've been in Elina's good care before, but haven't had my hair dyed by her, but I'm definitely going there again! Extra points for the salon having lots of tattoo magazines to browse and my favourite tea ;P

Commercial Break vol. 2

I worked so hard on the Bella Morte flyer that I completely forgot to take the time and print out flyers for the club I co-organize, so I only did a digital version. I'm out of the country when the next club is held, but I'm sure people will manage to listen to music and drink a few beers without me ;P

Club Underworld toivottaa kaikki tervetulleeksi valmistautumaan kuumaan kesään! Tarjolla on alkuillasta visailu, jossa on mahtavat juomapalkinnot, ja kolme DJ'tä viihdyttää loppuillan. Itse en pääse paikalle, mutta luotan kovasti siihen että kellarissa pidetään hauskaa munkin puolesta ;)

Translation: Club Underworld is soon, come and have fun!

Taupe Look

Never Too Much Sparkle -group has a taupe theme for this weeks challenge, and since I just got my hands on a super cool taupe, I did a look :)

I used:
Pollen Rare Find
Sugarpill Tako
Geek Chic Cosmetics The Pointy End
Rimmel 1000 Kisses lipstain in Carry On Cherry

Rare Find is the perfect light taupe, I think it works really well with my skin tone. The Pointy End was like a darker version of it, so I put some in the crease for shading. Taco is once again on the brow bone and inner corners of eyes. My eyebrows are not so perfect in the pic, since I was leaving for the hairdressers and knew I'll re-do them after all the washing and cutting and wiping of tiny pieces of hair.

I did the shading different than usual, the darker shade is just
in the crease, not all the way down to the last line in the outer part of the lid.

Look What I Did! / Commercial Break

The next Club Bella Morte has been announced, and I made the posters and flyers for them! Last party was awesome, and it was the first ever and the club was full in a few hours. I'm glad I was there early enough to get in, and the next one is held in a place that has more room.

So to anyone who's in Tampere on 9th of June, come to Mustalahden satama for an awesome night :)

What do you think? It's held in an harbour area, so that's why the sea-at-night background.
