Cosmetics from Germany

While in Berlin I shopped for cosmetics that are not available in Finland. I love going to Rossman and DM just to look at all the cheap stuff they have, and I've yearned to visit a Kiko again ever since I went to one in Cologne.

Nailpolish. The first on the left is called Miss Universe and I'm wearing it right now, it's gorgeous! The bright teal was on
discount and I didn't have a plain plum purple before, so I got one from Kiko.

Claire's had some comic theme items and I totally fell in love with this purple glittery bat necklace. I got two so I can put one up for a giveaway soon :)

I like bindis and body jewels, but haven't found them often in Finland.

I restocked on this nail oil by essence, I think the applicator is very handy and the oil has a nice, tangy, citrus smell with some sweetness. I also wanted some manicure sticks for my cuticles, I don't even know what the pink end is supposed to do but these looked nice ;P

Kiko mixing solution. I did have some mixing liquid coming from Darling Girl, but since this was only 3,5 euros I wanted to give it a go. Seems to work fine and the bottle is huge!

Essence gel blush. It's actually a lot less brown than what it looks like in the tube, it's more like a bright apple red. It was on discount and cost a little under three euros. Here's also the Miss Universe nail polish in action!

Nyx Jumbo Eye pencils in Black Bean and Milk. I've been coveting
these for ages and didn't even remember that Douglas sells Nyx.

A Manhattan Lip2Last liquid lipstick and a Maybelline Super Stay 24H liquid lipstick. Both colours are quite light and easy to wear, and last for ages. The Maybelline one has a balm stick to go over the colour, rather that the gloss with a doe-foot applicator that Manhattan has, but otherwise they are very much alike.

Kiko mascara in teal and purple, and an Essence Long Lasting eye pencil in purple.

The purple mascara, it's warmer IRL.

The teal mascara, a bit darker IRL.

And a perfume sample I got from Douglas with the Nyx pencils. Smells nice!

I also got some hair colour, just because it cost under two euros in DM and the same stuff is almost seven in Finland. Aside from cosmetics, I only got a few books from the Deutsches Historisches Museum's shop, aloe vera gel, tea tree oil and ginger tea. No clothing this time, I did visit some goth shops but nothing caught my eye.

  1. Buying cheap cosmetics and jewelry? Sounds like what I do on my vacations ( plus going to museums)

    1. Sounds just like me! ;D My best plans include first splurging on cosmetics, then heading for a museum to cool off and have a nice meal afterwards, and then I can play with all the new stuff ;P

  2. I need to visit Claire's and get one of those Batman necklaces for myself! Strange how you never notice the good stuff when it is just around the corner...

BTW, the pink part of the cuticle manicure sticks is supposed to work as a file/rasp, but I don't think that they work well.

    1. You should totally get one of the bat necklaces, they look nice and feel sturdy. They also had earrings and a ring to match, and at least the necklaces came in silver glitter also.

Thanks for the tip on the manicure sticks! I tried one yesterday, and the rasp end seemed to work okay on cuticles after a shower :)

    1. Thanks! I'm so happy with my nails at the moment, they have started growing better after I started using nail oil. I think they must have been too dry and brittle before. One is actually fixed with a gel nail, since it was just too annoying to have one short nail, but soon it's the same length as the others :)

    1. I'm regretting a bit that I didn't get the matching earrings, but maybe I'll survive ;)

  5. Ooh, I love those Maybelline Super Stay 24H lipsticks! Some of the darker colours have a crumbly consistency that breaks up during the day, but the lighter colours and bright reds last really well. I do sometimes have to top it up with a lip stain after eating or drinking, but they're still pretty great.

Also, I'd love to see what that teal mascara looks like on!

    1. Good to know, thanks for sharing! I couldn't decide on a dark colour, since I already had two dark shades of the Manhattan liquid lipsticks, and all the colours I liked looked very similar. But excellent that the lighter colours are actually better!

    1. They look really nice! I don't wear red so I've always passed the usual red ones, but these will be a lot easier to combine to my outfits :)
