Kat von D Poe Lipstick

I'm usually not a big fan of blue, but once in a while I come across something blue that just works for me. Kat von D's lipstick in the shade Poe is one of these rare finds. The base shade is indigo blue, but the lipstick has copper glitter in it, and that makes the shade lean more towards purple.

Poe is not my favourite when it comes to application. It's a bit on the dry side and not opaque. It tends to look a bit blotchy in close-ups, but IRL it looks fine. The copper glitter is really hard to capture with a camera, but it's just the little adjustment the indigo needs to work for me.

I wore this look to a friends' wedding picnic. It was a lovely sunny day, and very hot, so I wore my hair up in a messy bun.

The copper is so hard to capture! The blue base is not opaque, but still not too sheer.

  1. This is one of the shades I want. I keep seeing people who don't like it because it is patchy and others who think it applies great. I still want it. >.>

    1. Thanks! I think it's lovely, and on my lips the formula works. In close up it looks blotchy, but I think I'd smack them if someone came to look at my lips that closely IRL ;D So works for me and I'm quite sure you'd like it too!

    1. Thank you! That makes me think I should actually mention the jewellery in the post, as it's hand made by Lumissa's Purple Octopus and the set is simply lovely! :)

  3. The lipstick is great! I think that the copper just added a bit of individuality to the indigo blue!

    1. So true! It's the little things that matter, I would not have looked at this shade twice without the copper tone. Thanks!
